The I Told You So Obama Will Fuck Up Thread

Have you ever TRIED to adopt a child, my Ex wife and I did several years ago.

The red tape and money involved is staggering. You would think that with a reasonable background check and parents who are VERY willing to adopt a child, that the process would be reasonable, it is NOT. AND there are people who are on waiting lists for YEARS to adopt children, both infants and older children.

It is the LIBERAL social workers who have come up with so many hoops to jump through and enough red tape and money to make adopting a child nearly impossible for ANYONE but the most wealthy.

I helped my neighbors adopt by writing a recommendation, it didn't seem that difficult or very costly through the state agency they went through. Took about 8 months I'm thinking.

It's funny how the potential adoption-ready parents always feel bad for the potential adoption-ready parents and not the children who are involved. That's just one example as to exactly why the adoption process is more than reasonable.

Most of these eager parents can't even put their selfish "I want a baby, I want a baby" feelings aside and see that it's not about them and it's not about them getting a child...it's about that child finding a home. That's why adoption agencies don't just hand out children to anyone who is "more than willing" to take them.

I want to adopt a little girl (yes, I'm serious). I want to raise a daughter, take care of her, love her and watch her grow, giving her a beautiful life. I want it more than anything. But, just because I want to adopt a little girl more than anything else, doesn't mean that I'd make a good parent right now.

Obama can only do so much in his first term. It's not like he's a dictator able to wield his powers unopposed. Even with a majority of Dems in both houses he's gonna have to build consensus and find Republicans who'd vote on his bills. Dems unlike GOP will not be a rubber stamp for Obama (just see Clinton's first 2 years for proof) and undoing 8 years of Bush that include 2 expensive wars, trillions in national debt, and worst economy since Great Depression is tough for anybody to overcome. If you think you can do a better job than Obama then I challenge you to make your case.

Wow! you can't be serious? already making excuses and the best thing you can do is ask me such silly question? Well I don't think I saw you running against Bush when you were complaining and calling him idiot (which I bet you did), get that silly challenge out of here, is pure nonsense.

Go back home and sit down and start making a list of every little excuse you can make for your "chosen one", because you are going to need a book the size of a phone book by the end of his term.

Those things in the barrens on World of Warcraft? Why the hell would they make a good prez? :p

Their lightning attacks are weak. But barrens chat is funny. hehe

I know absolutely NOTHING about World of Warcraft. I was referring to one of the aliens on The Simpsons.

If this national health care disaster comes into being, it will be broke before it gets off the ground good. WAY too many people want something for nothing. People will abandon paying their premiums to get that "free" health care.

Hawaii tried this and within 7 MONTHS the entire system was broke, and had to be stopped.

Canada now has EMERGENCY ROOMS that are open 12 hours a day. Better break that leg between 8AM and 8PM or you are screwed.

This country doesn't have the MONEY to FINANCE this "FREE" health care, or have you people NOT seen what the economy is like right now? And it isn't going to get better overnight because people elected Louis Farakahn's messiah.

Think about this.

I will start to think when there will be something to think about... and when there will be less caps lock issues on your keyboard.

For now, take into account that the canadian system works very well. We are not in bankrupcy. People are still working as much as usual. We never experienced any disaster or anything your fear can stimulate into your imagination. Sadly, reality is different.

Wait a second Dawn. You mean to tell us that Canadians don't have to wait in line for 3 days in the snow in your barefeet just to get a routine medical check up? That's not what the republicans and my medical insurance company told me. They said that you Canadians can't even get a simple flu shot. And if your unlucky enough to get an infection, you just die, because the socialized healthcare sytem you have is incapable of providing antibiotics. And god forbid you get pregnant, because then you're forced to give birth in an igloo without an epidural.

Are you telling me that I've been lied to?

Luxury. We waited for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down at the mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for six bucks a week, and when we got in our Doctor would thrash us to wellness with his belt!!

~Gloriously ripped from the Four Yorkshiremen.

You know what I find amazing? Cuba, yes CUBA, an island nation ruled by Communists have better health care than we do here in the U.S.! If that doesn't say anything about how bad our health care is here, I don't know what does.

I know a lot of Canadians. Your information is apparently incorrect. Where is your proof?

In 2006, American healthcare costs were $6,714 per person. The average Canadian? $3,678 (US $).
Number of Americans with no health coverage of any kind? Between 20-30 million. Number of Canadians? 0

That's communist propaganda! :D

Seriously tho, Canada's healthcare system is not as great as Cuba's. Cuba might have major problems in other sectors but they are damn awesome at offering healthcare for all their citizen.

Well you happy people that voted for Obama, make sure it last because as soon as he starts fucking shit up, I will be there to tell you I told you so, don't want to hear your bitchin and get over it you got what you deserve. (A ranting/piss off independent).:mad:

Te salute, don equis.
At first I was like "oh no, another Obama thread."
But I believe this is a good way to keep track of all the "hopes" of "change" that will occur when He is elected president.
I thought about starting a thread on this, but I'll post here instead.

Here's some change thats happening already:
Stocks tumble, lose 10 percent in 2-day rout
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081106/wall_street.html
the Dow's worst two-day percentage decline since the October 1987 crash.

Hmm, Any moron knows that if they sell their stock now they will pay 15% capital gains. If they wait they will pay 28%+.
It will probably keep going down, with this threat of higher taxation he has promised, and with it increased unemployment and inflation.

Similar to Herbert Hoover raising taxes from 20% to 50% in 1929, to help stop the depression. Didn't help, and for the next 10 years the country paid for it.

Change? I am hoping for the best, but this ain't it.

Mr P you are just a bitter man cling to your guns and religion. There are so many errors in your post, I don't know where to begin. The stock market is responding to the financial meltdown that occured on Bush's watch for one thing. Another is Hoover's tax policy. Here is a tax rate table showing you are misinformed about 1929.

An interview with an actual CANADIAN in the past couple of weeks that I heard on the radio. So I don't actually have written proof, in triplicate that I can send to everyone here, sorry.

I think LBP76 is an actual CANADIAN.

The biggest problem I see is everybody wants to have ONE person fix everyones problems. The cause of the problems doesn't lay on one man how can the cure. Everyone blames Bush for all the problems in this country short of dying of old age. Yes he made many, many mistakes but alot of what is happening now has grown from seeds sown way before he was even in office. There are many causes for the problems. One pill cannot cure all sickness.

I think the guns a religion think was just fun sarcasm, alright, alright.

Ok, so Obama is elected, then the market plunges.
No relation? ok.
But maybe, just maybe, when people are threatened with higher taxes on profits they might earn on their stocks, they might: a) re-act by selling those stocks before the higher tax begins.
b) not invest at all.
AS far as the great depression, many things caused it, many affected it, hoovers tax adjustments certainly didn't help.

Propaganda?
Eye of the beholder man.

Besides Clinton every president has done nothing but continue the bad rep for America. I wish people would stop looking at peaceful answers as weak. As far war(which is pointless and immature) Obama wants to talk things out and there's nothing wrong with that. Plus you really think a retarted ignorant dumbass Bush supporter like McCain could do any better if not worse than Bush. Obama is a peaceful human being and I rather have that kind of person than a bitch ass idiot that's too pride filled to realize that war/ violence never ends problems it only pisses people off.
