The development of the internet over the last ten years

Torn & Frayed.
But you can see IE is dying a slow and painful death since 2002, and Firefox users are stepping over to Chrome.
And as Petra said, most people use it because it's installed on their computer. If this wasn't the case I wonder if people would use it at all.

IE needs to be put out of it's misery....if people had to install their own browsers; it'd be dead by next week.

I tried Chrome; but I prefer Firefox.

I remember chatting INSTANTLY was so cool ten years ago. Now you got chatrooms everywhere, and everyone's connected through their cellphones.
Now with mobile internet and everything, I'm wondering what the next step will be and when.

Oh, remember Netscape Navigator? Or using Kazaa for downloads??

The internet is a poison. We should all revert back to the good old days when beating your wife was a respectable evenings activity. Where are we now, huh? Posting on various men's rights activists forums on the necessity of spousal abuse and how rape isn't real rape in some instances because the internet has made all of us obese, shut ins with no social skills and as such women won't have anything to do with us.

A POISON I TELL YOU!

What's funny is how you say everything as if it were fact.

2002 was better. Borders is better. Ninjas are better.

Yes and no. I said they were better because I like them better.

I didn't say everyone had to like what I like. I just wish they did. :hatsoff:

Many companies have fallen due to failure to adapt...I personally think the music and film industries need to adapt further.

Was it even possible to use the internet on your cell/mobile phone? I think it was WAP then.

As for IE, I'm surprised most people still own PCs. You still have to worry about viruses etc.

Was wireless internet available ten years ago...everyone's wireless now too.

Online video gaming has increased too.

How many of you were using the internet ten years ago, I was...

Also, with e-books you can now carry 100+ books with you at one time, what's not to like?

Cell phones can be hacked and get viruses. You're more susceptible to hacking and more using wireless.

PCs and laptops are better. They have bigger monitors. They also have better cooling systems.

Can you download all the books you bought after you buy them if you lose them all on your e-reader?

I doubt it.

Or "our misery"... depends on how you view it.

Same answer would apply to this question: Can you get new copies of all your hard copy books when you would lose your 'library'? And it's probably easier to make a copy or backup of an e-book than to make a copy of a book, no? ;)

Easier than getting to download for free all the e-books you had. ;)

One of the biggest problems with e-books is a lot of them you don't technically get to own. I'm also seeing a lot of things like that having to be used with proprietary readers and other similar things. At least with a physical book I own it, have the right to first sale with it, and can use it in almost any way I wish.

Yup, ninjas are better
