2002 was better. The searches were better.

Ninjas are better than "forever alone"

The rise of social networking is not a great thing.

I like renting movies better than netflicks.

Borders is better than e-books.

The only thing i haven't adapted to is e-books. I will not buy them. I enjoy a book in my hand while sitting on my lazy boy next to my nightstand and lamp.

2002 doesn't feel like ten years ago.

No kidding. And then I remember the kids starting university this year were born in 1994, and I realise I'm an old fuck.

I resisted this for a long time, because I love books. But I read faster with digital books, the enjoyment of the book is not compromised, the books cost less, and I can take ten books with me on holiday without having to pack them.

I was the exact same way. I refused to buy one because I enjoyed reading paperbacks and hardcovers. There was no way I was going to go digital. And I never would have if I hadn't received one as a gift a couple years ago. But it grew on me the more I used it. Now I don't go anywhere without it. I love the mobility and the fact that I can carry around all my favorite books and discover new ones.

I still have all my old books, but they just collect dust now. I've also discovered that I read more with the Kindle. Something about that percentage bar makes me want to keep reading. It's like a motivator. Regardless, I highly recommend checking out the Kindle.

I to,can not comprehend, how fucking young everyone else in the world is. Old fucks we are. I embrance it, and that's why I can't do the
E-books. I'm close to a Ludite anyway. + I really like the tactile sensation on a book in my hands. I adverage 4 years from a products introduction
to my possible purchase. Tech Savoy I'm not. I embrace that too.

Cheers,

Sadly, yes. I'd say well over half if not more of FreeOnes users still use IE. Why? Because it's the browser that comes installed on their PC out of the box.

I want to get an ebook reader, but I usually read in the bath. If I ruin a book, I can get a new one for very little. If I drop the ebook reader in the tub, that's not so easy to replace.

I can't comment: The first thing I did when I got mine was install an entirely new O/S.....;)

That's what I thought! I was guessing for sure that it would be in the minority today

All depends on the source you use. I often look at W3Schools for their statistics (http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp) they gathered. It's not representative for all people surfing the net, since the statistics are gathered from the visitors, mostly people who are interested in web design and development and/or who are learning the basics. But you can see IE is dying a slow and painful death since 2002, and Firefox users are stepping over to Chrome.
And as Petra said, most people use it because it's installed on their computer. If this wasn't the case I wonder if people would use it at all.
