The boringness and negativity of television series

Futurama originally was going downwards from season 3, where the only stories went about Fry, Bender and Leela. The others never got an interesting backstory episode.

And now season 6 is just crap. Zoidberg and Zap aint that funny anymore....

It's a shame isn't it? That used to be my favorite show...

Somke one was talking about Dexter....

Honestly, I liked a lot in the beginning. But I felt that there was something not good about it. The guy is a (sick) serial killer. I know Jean luke Picard blew up tons of enemy battleships to protect the Federation, but that is different.

Dexter is not a hero who's hunting down criminals and puts them behind bars and let justice system handle it, like any cop show. The basic is that we all watch a serial killer, and just because he's killing bad people makes him a good guy? Sorry,........no.

Anyone who has ever watched Dexter knows he's a sick demented serial killer, but that why we, or at least I, love him.
I never seeked the justifications for his kills, I never wanted him to be a "good guy", despite the fact TV is still all about good vs. evil.

It's kind of like the first 3 seasons of Heroes (because the 4th was so numbingly boring I dont remember anything), where most characters werent good or evil, they were just people living their lives, switching sides, doing bad AND good.

I quit watching tv series long time ago. The only exception is Chuck.

I mostly watch National Geograhpic Channel, History Channel, Eurosport, VH1 and news networks on tv. Mainstream channels really really suck. Ladies and gentlemen, watching prime time shows of Turkish channels is a useful way to get asleep.

I look forward Conan O'Brien's new show. Leno - O'Brien re-replacement is a fucking mistake.

Was King of the Board for a Day
I both like and dislike television, but there's honestly very few shows that I can always stomach. The Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill, and South Park for animated, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and most of the Norman Lear-produced shows for live. I've probably forgotten a few for each category, but those are all the ones that stand out in my mind right now.

The thing I like about television is that unlike movies, because most shows last only 30-60 minutes (counting commercials), writers are able to put more focus on stories/story lines allotting for the shortened time frames. I love Breaking Bad because of the excellent writing (and of course acting, but that's another story), and how I'm able to see the detail and care in every aspect of the show and how it flows. What's that due to? Writing. It's harder to praise strong writing in animated shows as a whole, but it's evident in the longevity of the show and how it presents itself.

I dislike television because now, any moron can get themselves a television show, and most of them are the same thing. Every teen/tween star(let) gets their own show on Nickelodeon/Disney, every comedian gets their own comedy on TBS/FOX/NBC, and every B-list, hack celebrity, or person who was on a different reality show gets their own reality show, whether it's looking for a mate, money, or more fame. So much emphasis is put on cranking out the same old successful shit over and over again, it's easy to be disillusioned with television. I myself can't stand it when my brothers turn on VH1 or MTV (remember when it actually used to play music videos?) to watch the newest dating show or Nickelodeon for "ICarly".
