The Biden Presidency

The AOC has her bone to pick with Joe Biden's choice for Ambassador of Japan accusing Barack Obama's former Chief Of Staff of a coverup. How long will this dingbat wait until she calls Barack Obama a NAZI too?

Here's an interesting take from an unexpected person. Does Ann Coulter moonlight as a Scarecrow these days?

Ann Coulter sides with Biden on Afghanistan over withdrawal, calling Trump a 'wuss' who broke his promise

Lesson: Biden is not liberal enough and has more balls then Trump. I like it.

Biden moves to boot Trump loyalists from advisory boards

I get 45 would have totally done the same, but I thought joe's thing was that he is supposed to be different from him.
“On behalf of President Biden, I am writing to request your resignation as a Member of the Board of Visitors to the U.S. Naval Academy,” Russell wrote, according to the letter that Vought subsequently posted on Twitter. “Please submit your resignation to me by the close of business today. Should we not receive your resignation, your position with the Board will be terminated effective 6:00 p.m. tonight.”
Authority figures should of course be aligned with your ideals and change with each administration, but I would have thought the point of advisory boards is to get a wide range of perspectives. I don't know what the breakdown of the boards is like, but it sounds like he's wiping out everyone who had anything to do with the previous admin.

I get that 45 stacked the boards prior to leaving, so I'm not saying this is not totally justified, I mean, appointing Conway to anything seems a little out of whack. But it feels like we could have used a little more info on the situation.

Trump's "advisors were in general hardcore lobbyist way outside the spectrum the representation of citizens, unless you call specifically top 1% the citizens that count.

Firing the previous administration's political appointments is routine, but knowing what we know about how the previous administration and its lackeys have no use for established norms its taken 8 months to let some of them go because President Biden was making sure the ones he's getting rid of wouldn't be able to take it to court and get their jobs back. Just another example of Cool Joe being miles out in front on every issue.

Keep in mind, some of these appointments were meant to give Biden the middle finger. One of the board members was appointed on January 5. The day before he’ll broke out in DC.

It is difficult to unify a group who responds with “Hey CuckBoy go lick some Democrat’s boots.” For the record, that was Sebastian Gorka who is on the National Security Education Board. He was previously ‘forced’ out of the Trump admin.

Why should Biden keep Sean Spicer and Kellyanne Conway around? Unity implies two willing parties. I don’t see one here for the most part.

All of that said, who has ever heard of these military academy boards of visitors?

Pam Bondi was one of Trump’s impeachment lawyers - both trials. She supported Trump’s Big Lie and got appointed a Trustee of the Kennedy Center.

My question is: Why do they want to serve in a Biden administration?

When 45 did it, it was no surprise. He made no secret of the way he was going to run things - i.e. "My way or GTFO". Mind you, that doesn't make it any better, but joe made a big deal about being bipartisan and reconciling with the right. This doesn't follow that message. To me it's like the difference between someone giving you the finger to your face, or someone who says they like you but fully intends on giving you the finger later. Neither are good.

It seems like a flawed system for info gathering - how confident can you be in your decisions when all of your advisors are comprised of "yes men"?

Speaking of "Who would want to want to serve in a joe admin?", I'm guessing this wasn't a big issue when presumably 45 also cleared house, since no one under Obama would have wanted to work under the next administration.

And yeah... without googling, WTH is a "board of visitors"?

Chuckling a bit. This is a Biden thread and I wonder if the word ”Trump” is used more Than “Biden”.
Certainly lots of merit to the comparisons and the discussions on the holdovers. This isn’t new. Bush had it from Clinton, Trump from Obama. Biden definitely has it from Trump.

(No Trump policies or administration holdovers were endorsed in this posting. 😂 )

The situations between them aren't equivalent.

No other president in our lifetimes has had either the stupid sycophants bending the knee to them or the mindless adoration and worship from their followers after they left office. For the most part after they were gone the other presidents mostly disappeared. Even most of the other presidents supporters recognized them as flawed politicians and don't have a weird hero worship of them.

I would love it if Trump would go away be old news. Being forgotten might even be the most fitting punishment for a narcissist like Trump, but that's not the reality. Not because I and others like me don't want that but because there are too many dumb asses out there that need to be counteracted.

It will be interesting to see how the Biden Administration fairs with the $3.5 T social spending package currently under consideration by the House Democrats.

https://thehill.com/policy/finance/...-percent?utm_source=join1440&utm_medium=email

This is an interesting one. It would raise the corporate tax rate from 21% to 26.5% and the top individual tax rate from 37% to 39.6%. The top capital gains tax - which applies primarily to investments - would increase from 20% to 25%. A 3% additional tx would be applied to individual incomes above $5M, among a bunch of other provisions.

The House Ways and Means Committee is expected to vote on the package, estimated to raise roughly $3T in revenue, tomorrow afternoon.

Corporate taxes make up about 6% of the federal revenue, which individual taxes account for roughly 47%.

I highly doubt it will pass in the present form. Something might pass but in a very watered down version.
