Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
There will never be peace...why?

Interesting question but the answer is obvious. Man, by his very nature, is an aggressive creature. Where there is aggression, there is bound to be conflict. Where there is conflict, there is bound to be violence. Where there is violence, there can be no peace. Alas, it has always been thus and will henceforth always be the case I am afraid.

BTW, congrats on your 5K post....are you out now?? :dunno:

That's Olbermann's opinion....not fact. Yes, the historical references he made are factual, but the issues we are discussing here are totally different from what he was using as illustrations of "political statements" being made as long ago as the 1880s. Those issues were directly related to the field of play....whether or not players of a different color could take the field and compete with white players. The protest the Rams' players made had to do with an off-the-field issue and, although I totally understand their sentiment and purpose, the forum they used was totally inappropriate in my opinion. By comparison, I would not be allowed to lobby for a particular social or political cause while I am on duty where I work and neither should these players. I would surmise that this type of display will not be repeated and I will be seriously disappointed if it is. On the other hand, what they do on their own time is their business and they should be able to express their feelings on the matter without restriction. However, when they are on the field and wearing those Ram horn helmets, they need to keep social and political issues where they belong....off the field and separate from their workplace.

I disagree. Is was about whether or not different races could coexist. Let a black player pitch, you have to let him in the locker room. Let a black player catch, you have to let him use the drinking fountain. Let a black player throw a banjo string to home plate, that could be a white player that's called out. All of this adds up to an equality that's witnessed by thousands and reported to millions (at that time). And if equality happens on the diamond, how can it not happen anywhere else? How do you keep Satchel Paige, Oscar Charleston or Cool Papa Bell from staying at your hotel, or eating at your diner, if they just helped your team win the pennant?

Sports and society can not be mutually exclusive to each other. Because they will not be. Gambling, labor, segregation, drugs, point shaving, hazing, collective bargaining, steroids, social media; all these things are going to play out in both/all arenas.

A completely different way of putting it: I've never been a male chauvinist. Never. Equal work, equal pay, equal opportunity have never had to sell themselves to me. Why? The 1972 Olympic Games (I was 6 and 7). I saw women and girls being thrown into the air, spinning and landing on a blade. I saw the women gymnasts doing things that no man could ever do. I saw women athletes doing utterly remarkable things, and could not see where men are "superior" to them.

Sports and society are not, can not and will not be exclusive to each other. Both need the other to evolve.

I don't care about the Rams or what they did. But I understand it.

I've encountered many people who claim to have met high ranked and very experienced cops, to know spies (and of course these spies have told 'em secrets), to know things that other people don't know, have seen things only they have seens, etc. And I know most of them are just liars. So stop pretending to be someone you're not, I don't buy it.

I've said it a few post higher, I'm not against cops killing crminals, I'm against cops killing non-criminal citizens.
Michael Brown, Tamir Rice and Eric Garner were not criminals.
The Rumain Brisbon case is different since he was a suspect in a druc bust case and had a struggle with the officer. Comparing this case to the 3 others is insulting to these 3 people.
I am not pretending anything, you idiot. You don't my background and you don't know what personal connections nor relationships I have in real life with these people, so before calling me a liar or whatever make sure that you get the proofs of these kind of accusations. We have seen who the socialists like you support, criminals and social welfare cases, you hate discipline and order that is enough for me to know your hate for cops. You will always side with the supposedly"innocent" wannabe thugs and criminals, go back to your socialist playground and hide from your bullshit.

Johan and his ilk hate you because you write the truth AND the the fact that you are allowed to write it at all. Nothing pisses them off more than any sign of non-Leftist control of information. Screw them, keep pissing 'em off.

I've had 9 years of your posting history georgy. I have seen you post some utterly ridiculous shit pertaining to firearms and self-defense, not to mention your insipid world-view. Absolutely none of it leads me to believe that you have anything but a passing acquaintance to anyone in Law Enforcement, if that.

BTW, I have asked you several questions in recent days that you have failed to answer. Don't pass yourself off as a hairy-chested paragon of virtue if you're too gutless to elaborate on the views you insist in foisting on the rest of us.

You speaking of hate is quite funny. That's like ISIS speaking of human-rights violation...

I don't hate cops -as individuals- nor police -as an institution- I hate the system in which cops are being investigated by other cops in which the prosecutor needs thr cop unions for endorsement. I hate the gun culture, the absence of gun-laws that have created a much violent society in which cops are afraid constantly and often chose to shoot firstand think later.

Your the one who have hate for individuals, I don't. I have hate for the system

I dislike people who are potential criminals as well as corrupt police law enforcement and this is why there is in every law enforcement department, you have an Internal Affairs bureau division kinda like in France, the Inspection Générale des Services. In France, cops don't shoot and get ridiculed, insulted and the scumbags spit on their faces. When a French cop shoots a criminal, he gets lambasted to death by socialists and prosecuted for many bullshit reasons. In the US, that is not the case. I honestly prefer a cop shooting a criminal than one kneeing in front of a criminal and getting ridiculed. The system of justice in France is absolute shit.

Define"potential criminal". What makes soemone a potential criminal ? Is it the colour of his skin ? His religion ? The neighborhood he lives in ? The clothes he wears ?

both French and US systems are shit. there's gotta be a decent system somewhere in between those two

I have seen what has been your history aside kissing Kerry's and Obama's asses, nothing exceptional just praising parasitism and socialism. I don't have a record and also for your instance I don't do drugs unlike you who smoke the pot and who were for the legalization of marijuana like most of Obama devotees. You are well aware of stand your ground laws as well as CCW permit because I am, don't think that because you are living in the US that some people living outside US are absolutely not knowledgeable on the 2nd amendment. You know nothing about me and I don't have to justify my self over you nor anyone else coming from your political spectrum. I am not gutless and I don't hide behind the Obama agenda claiming that everything is going is better when in fact it is just going worse especially when especially Obama tries so hard to legalize 5000000 of illegals. You must be one of those who were for the assault weapon ban as well for the high capacity magazines ban, I don't doubt of it. So spare me your liberal prose bullshit along with your so called non biased questions which don't make sense as well as your usual Obama sidekicks. If you were a vietnam war veteran or first gulf war veteran, I would have much more respect for you.

First, people pay a lot of attention to gestures, way of being dressed, way of talking but also the neighborhood. I have never been asked for my Identity Card in 30 years whether by the Gendarmerie Nationale, Police Nationale and even by State Troopers or NYPD . Yes, some cops will look your face and if they don't like it, they will ask you questions about who you really are and try to investigate. The problem is that some neighborhoods are sources of drug deals, murders, prostitution rings, rackets and drive by shootings. Look in France just at the Champs Elysees of how shitty it has become, I am not even talking about Nanterre (Pablo suburb), Marseille, Grigny, Créteil, Bobigny, Mantes la Jolie, Vaux en Velin, Lille, St Denis, Cachan, Livry Gargan, La Courneuve and Paris with La Goutte d'Or, Chatelet and Barbes which are scumbags nests it is not comparable to the Bronx, Queens, Harlem, the Watts in LA, Detroit, Flint, Fairfax and Chicago, but it becomes more and more close to.
Problem is that finding a right balance between not shooting and shooting isn't easy especially when all is matter of life or death and all is counted in seconds.

Good Lord! Post of the fuckin' year!

aside kissing Kerry's and Obama's asses
I didn't vote for Kerry. I voted for your boy Dubya(twice), and fat lot of good it got me.
Plus, my posting record is replete of criticisms of Obama, including posting the same Youtube vid at least 8 times of Bill Mahers criticisms of Obama. Pay attention, doofus.

You must be one of those who were for the assault weapon ban as well for the high capacity magazines ban
This one's priceless. I'm a life member of the NRA and have worked with pro-gun groups in El Paso, Georgia and Washington State. While you were sittin' and bitchin', I was actually doing something. Back before the internet was invented, I wrote dozens of letters to my elected politicians, with my name signed to each one. And my posting record clearly shows I'm pro-2nd Amendment. You're an idiot.

If you were a vietnam war veteran or first gulf war veteran, I would have much more respect for you.
Again, if you were paying attention to anything but yourself, you'd remember that I am a Gulf War vet. 1/37 AR, 1st Armored Division. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/37th_Armor_Regiment_(United_States)#Desert_Storm During my 8 years in uniform I also served in Germany and South Korea in worldwide deployable Armor, worldwide deployable ADA and worldwide deployable communications. When they need you to be worldwide deployable, they send for the very best.

So spare me your liberal prose bullshit along with your so called non biased questions which don't make sense as well as your usual Obama sidekicks.
My questions make perfect sense to anyone who has an ounce of courage to go along with their convictions. You're a coward. And a pretty stupid one at that. You got everything in your post completely wrong except that I support legalization of marijuana. But you still couldn't keep from coughing up a hairball on that, because Obama is one of the ones standing in the way. He repeatedly spoke against legalization, to the point that Jimmy Kimmel had to get up in his face about it at the 2012 correspondents dinner.

You pay attention to nothing. You observe nothing. You make your own shit up in your delusional little brain. And when confronted with your own bullshit, you run like the coward that you are.

You are looking at it from a philosophical and societal perspective. I am looking at it from a practical perspective. I would not be allowed to make political demonstrations as part and parcel of my regular job responsibilities and neither should those players while they are wearing the uniform. I understand why they did what they did as well. I just don't agree that the field of play is the proper venue for such demonstrations.

And he will not answer them, Mayhem, because he cannot answer them. All he knows how to do is spew out his venomous nonsense like some trained parrot (no offense meant to parrots by the way, it's just a metaphor ;))....all the while making vague assumptions about both large groups and individuals alike and inventing non-terms and general gibberish (like "free social security" and "potential criminals").

I see dumb georges is still at it. He thinks it's ok to make assumptions about everyone else but apparently doesn't like it when it's done back to him. Of course we're talking about an idiot that's got a fanboy crush on the Hells Angels, so it's really not surprising that he's too stupid to stop. After all those hero-worship posts about that faggy biker gang he really should have had the decency to resign as a mod and close his account. Too dumb to breathe, that's our whore-heys.

We live in a society that likes to make clear-cut judgements-between good and bad, right and wrong, successful and unsuccessful. But that is not how the universe works. The universe does not judge. Since the dawn of time, it has operated on two priciples: the creative and the destructive. We have come to terms with the creative impulse-that, after all, is why we're on Earth but we live in fear of the destructive because that, one day, will be our reason for going.

Which is why leftists like yourself bleat on about being oppressed, while you show your desire to oppress and control others. Who are the most zealous censors, blackballers and totalitarians in Western society? Leftists.
