Tech Question - Trouble with WinMediaPlayer

Help!

I'm having trouble with Windows Media Player.

When I click on WMV or MPEG links (similar to the ones seen in this porn link Premium Link Upgrade ) the clips won't play. I get an error message reading INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE.

There is no connection problem. (Clearly, I am connected to the internet.)
I have Windows Media Player installed. I burned a CD yesterday using it.

Your advice? (and please... don't say "buy a Mac." I will accept donations to do so if you feel strongly enough to say that.)

Thanks!

Have you tried using Quicktime to play it? The links worked for me using that player.

do you have a firewall ?

if so, please disable it temporarily in order to know it that's the problem (remember to disable the windows firewall as well, and other anti-spyware/malware that you might have)

WARNING: only do it TEMPORARILY! disable a firewall can bring a lot of trouble...

if it's not that, then it's maybe the WMP settings.
try reinstall it and READ CAREFULLY every option.

give up on Media Player, its too limited. try these instead:

Premium Link Upgrade

Premium Link Upgrade

lots of freeones folk use the VLC, i'm partial to GOM but both are superior to Media Player
