Suppertime! Suppertime! Hey Fellas, What'd You Have For Supper Tonight?

This is a good opportunity to get some beef on sale. I got an 8 lb Prime Rib Roast from the Ralph's for about $64. We ate it on Christmas Eve and it was great. Had some other stuff along with it including a few pies at the end. Go to the store, get a couple roasts, then put them in the freezer. Cheaper than McDonald's if you calculate how many meals you get.

Over 60 degrees, here in New England. Dusted off the charcoal grill, and had a chicken breast marinated in teriyaki sauce. Heated up some Uncle Ben's Wild Rice in the microwave, and washed it down with a glass of Cambria Chardonnay.

Wood Ranch BBQ - Smoked Brisket(2 lbs), Tri-Tip(1 lb), Baked Beans, Skin-On French Fries, Caesar Salad, Garlic Rolls

I was running some errands near a big retail-area, Saturday afternoon. Stopped by a local tavern-type restaurant for steak tips (this time). Tips were good; only one piece with some fat. Came with steamed broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The tips were definitely marinated. Had a glass of Medusa pilsner while waiting, and a glass of Sterling Vintner's cabernet savignon with the meal. Place was packed! I found a seat at the bar; otherwise was a 35 minute wait for a table. (Other two times, got seated right away.)

I like your style because you eat liquor for dinner then wash it down with a bit of food.

A Rao's night! Rao's Penne Pasta, in Rao's Bolognese sauce. Added some 4C Grated Parmesan cheese. Washed it down with some Bogle merlot.
Did you buy a jar of sauce, and boil the pasta, or was it a ready made type of thing? My wife buys Rao's when we run out of homemade sauce, and has had a couple of their frozen diners, which she said are pretty good. Their stuff isn't cheap though.

The wife isn't feeling well, so we had doordash bring some breakfast from Denny's. Pancakes, 3 scrambled, and sausage links for me, not sure what she ordered.

"Did you buy a jar of sauce, and boil the pasta .." Yes, and yes. Agreed - Rao's is NOT cheap. It was just bought out, for big $$$. My grocery store has it on sale every 4-6 weeks. So, I'll buy: bags of pasta; jars of sauce, and/or up to 4 of the frozen dinners, when it is.

I only recently tried their bagged pasta. The Penne is very good. Haven't had the Rotini, yet. Wanted to have it with Rao's .. Marinara. I'll try to remember to do a review of that meal, too.

Rainy in New England again this week.. Did a chicken breast in the oven, sprinkled with lemon pepper seasoning. Made a garden salad (iceberg, cucumber, tomato) with a local Italian restaurant's house dressing. And washed it down with some Noble Savignon Blanc from New Zealand / Marlborough.

The wife made sausage biscuits and gravy, and home fries for dinner tonight.

A new taco bell opened up nearby and was giving away free tacos with every purchase. I order a combo with 3 products I don't even recognize. They were fries with meat, a burrito of some kind, a grilled flat tortilla and some deep fried crispy twisty cinnamon sticks.

I must be going out of my mind because last night for Dinner I made Breakfast. Who in the heck does things butt-backwards like that? I have to admit the Breakfast Burritos I made for Dinner were very good. Each Burrito had 3 eggs with lots of bacon and cheese with La Victoria Thick 'n' Chunky Salsa for some additional flavor. I might do that again but please don't tell anyone as I worry about being institutionalized.

Dude, brinner is totally an acceptable meal, especially if you're a guy, and if you have a wife willing to make it for you, you can consider yourself a lucky man.
