Conspiracy...
All jedi can use jedi knight speed, among other things. He can use a force shield or somesuch. A little battle meditation would let him see some of the moves superman would make. A jedi has intuition, superman is just super, man.

Has Luke or any other Jedi revered time by running around the Earth?

Comparing a comic book character to most anyone is crazy. Even though both are fictitious characters.

Still I rest my case. Superman wins this without breaking a sweat.

Using the Force, Luke could defend against just about anything Superman could do to him. Superman may be fast, but the Force gives Luke premonitory reflexes for anything he could try. A Force Grip would render Superman utterly impotent, since under the influence of the Force, the very matter that he is made of would nullify his strength. In a one-on-one fight, a Jedi is effectively invincible against a non-Jedi/Sith, including Superman.

Now the question becomes, what effect would a lightsaber have on Superman? Superman can fly through the core of a star, so I doubt a loop of highly charged plasma would have much effect. So Luke would have to either imploy Kryptonite or a red star. Either is plausible, however. For all of Superman's powers, nothing is ever said of his mind being any different than yours or mine (as far as I know), so he would be fully susceptible to Jedi Mind Tricks. Luke could lead him like a puppy dog to a red star based solar system and then slice & dice with ease.

No question: Luke by a mile.

Egg-zackly.

Superman has no mental powers and even in the comic books he was often tricked by his villains. How else could genius Lex Luthor have gotten one over on him SO DAMN MANY TIMES?! Lex doesnt even have a power. He's just human.

I know that Superman can stop a bullet, but...can he stop a LIGHTSABER?

Ponder that while I grab myself a refreshing root beer.

That sentence would be so much better if you took out 'root'.

Lightsaber? Consider that Luke can easily find out superman's weakness and either put a kryptonite crystal to focus the beam.. thus making it a portable generator of super-weak for Clark Kent.

If not that, all luke has to do is carry some around with him. Luke is well-versed in convincing someone to turn to his cause. They'd talk first, right? Well clark is just a country boy.. he's reasonably intelligent but he's no Lex Luthor. He's no alien lifeform that knows 20 languaes and 100 weapons. He's just.. superman. He has no defense against the force.

If you mean the new superman.. absolutely.

The old one? Had to be. Super powers, all those krypton perks.. and he fucking fumbles the ball with Lois Lane all the damn time. TAP THAT HUMAN ASS!

that brings up a good question, if a pornstar refuses to have inter-galactic sex, does that make her a bigot?

Yes. She's officially off the intergalactic porn empire and has to shack up with the rebels. The pay is lower but you neve risk being killed by an assassin droid when you know too much.

Who would win ?

At what?

Being a big cry-baby wuss, when you find out your dad likes to wear black S&M clothes and speak through a raspy ventilated mask?

or..

who can wear their kegs outside their pants the longest, without looking a prat?

or..

Who can get the biggest hard-on after seeing Princess Leia in THAT gold bikini..

or..

Ok, I'm done..

Here's another thought, the force is sort of like magic and Superman is very weak against magic. So I say with a combination of the force and a kryptonite crystal lightsaber, I stand by my original argument that Luke Skywalker would defeat Superman.

Aye. Superman can do plenty, but luke can use the force anywhere in the galaxy with his mind. If superman tried to rewind time or take away the kryptonite.. Luke would sense it immediately. Disturbances in the force and all, ya know. :p

Superman has limitations that Luke can exploit. For starters, Superman's "powers" are only active on Earth or within Earth's gravitational axis. If Superman were to travel to Tatooine, he might not have his powers, correct? He doesn't need to have a kryptonic lightsaber. Luke's lightsaber can repel Superman's superlaser eyesight. All Luke has to do is wear a necklace of kryptonite like a garland of garlic.

Luke is able to tap into the Force no matter where he is. The force surrounds every being, every place, it penetrates, it...whatever else Ben Kenobi said...So Luke can fight Superman anyplace, anytime. Superman may have to pick and choose his battles.

I do think on Earth, Superman would have a distinct advantage because he can throw a ton of things at Luke all at once..he can hit him with earthquakes, laser vision, superspeed...etc. That's a lot of attacking moves which Luke would have to defend all at once....
