I am no more happy about $3.00 per gallon than you are 8. It was just an observation that higher prices are an extra incentive to use less for me.

If I calculate right, a gallon has ~3,8 liters.

Today, on the 6th of December, 2007, 1 liter costs 1,319 Euros

As a Hummer 2 sips 25 litres in cities (and hell, they ain't been drivven nowhere else much), this means almost 33 Euros per 100 km. Or:

1 Euro per 1 km.

You can buy spacious european or asian middle-class cars that average at a quarter of that.

And the Lexus - GS 450h is satisfied with ~8 litres. And that one is high-class and a much better buy than a Hummer, and doing something for the world we share

ha! and its not even anything to do with what the vehicle costs. that has nothing to do with it except for how easy they are to get i suppose. the rant is the unethical and deliberate unnecessary over-usage of gas, not the cost of hummers/duallies, etc. *shrug*

i mean its one thing to have the kind of money to burn on the gas and vanity vehicle, but thats not the issue. you do what u want with your money, but of course that doesnt mean waste gas just to look cool or whatever to point of having a hummer is.
