I pretty much expected something like this to happen right after his speech. My thoughts on it are simple - he doesn't owe them an apology at all. They were all willing participants with him in this and knew what they were getting into. In fact, most of them, like the Playboy model interviewed in the first article, will be prospering greatly because of the entire scandal, although I won't disagree that there are some mistresses who probably didn't intend or desire to be exposed at all and are going through some emotional burden.

I think that even if the incident that sparked this entire debacle never happened, sooner or later these women would have been exposed either by the tabloids or by their own admission.

Still though, I find it hilarious that after all that talk a lot of the mistresses had of wanting to apologize so much to Elin, they've completely forgotten about her now and are focused on themselves and how much money they can get out of either Tiger or the public :rofl:

Tiger's the most recognizable figure in all of sports. Up until now he's also been a bullet proof "brand" for a wide variety of advertisers, many of whom literally can't afford to retain a person of questionable morals as a spokesperson. Then there are the thousands upon thousands of kids that looked up to him as a role model. In my opinion he does owe them an apology.

Hmmm, seems like you haven't quite arrived in this century yet. Of course he and his wife deal with all that privately, but it's a fact that we're living in a time and age where the biggest sports stars cannot do anything without a camera or microphone in their respective faces. And with that comes a whole new package of consequences if you do this or that. I think it's pretty clear that if the back-up middle line-man of a subpar NFL team is cheating on his wife, coz noone cares. But it's friggin Tiger Woods we're talkin' about. And all that shabang now is the price you've got to pay for all the insane money you earn playing a sport professionally. If Tiger didn't grasp the wide consequences his actions ultimately would conjur then he's even dumber than I thought. But I believe he thought that he just wouldn't get caught.

That's the big difference between US and Europe(or at least, France).
When Zdane did his "headbutt" on the 2006 World Cup final, most people apologized to him and blaim Materazzi for having provoked him on purpose.

Zidane in France is very comparable to Woods in the US : the N°1 guy in the N°1 sport, with a perfect image, a real role-model for kids, specially kid from North-African ascendancy.

Very few people blamed Zidane, and among those blaming him, most where saying "Yeah, he shouldn't have done that. Yeah, he's guilty BUT, he's been reacting to Materazzi never-ending insults, so you know..."
