The shaft & balls is a must & at least buzz the pubic hair.

Get it out of your head that you're going to hurt yourself shaving your balls. You're not going slice your sack open with a razor blade ok. The worst that will happen is that you'll knick yourself, no big deal it's not the worst pain in the world. Shave your balls while in the shower because the hot water will loosen the follicles, making it a better shave.
