Sexually abused women in the sex industry

Why do you people take this figure so seriously? The source is a religious anti-porn activist who don`t give any kind of evidence or back-up information about how and where this figure (80%) came from.

I thought people were laughing about that crap, but instead lot of people are talking like this actually had something to do with real life porn biz :dunno:

It`s propaganda, it`s meant to turn you against porn.

....at least until someone shows a study that proves it as something else.

We don't take the figure seriously, we take the fact that someone actually dares to post such crap seriously and then disprove it by any means possible for anyone to see (especially those who might believe it). Of course that leads to a discussion as well and ... well , read the thread...

I would have more sympathy for people like Lubben if-

1. They were actually a place pornstars could go to for help- without having to denounce porn as evil, find Jesus Christ & do stuff for promotional purposes for Lubben to actually get that help.

2. They did not attack the porn industry, if they want to be against porn then fine, however gatecrashing porn events- trying to recruit women from the porn industry by giving out free gifts etc is wrong, also they bombard pornstars e-mail addresses with the porn is evil you must be unhappy routine.

As Vicky Vette said to them as she recounted here when she received it, she is happy fucking on camera & making money so go away, at which point she was told she was in denial. This is a problem with most religion, instead of letting people come to it when they are ready, they insist on ramming it down people's throats when they are not interested.

3. If they could support themselves, instead they rely on charity from the public & hawk their various wares on their website at inflated prices, which leads of course to many of us thinking it may be more about making money than 'saving souls'.

4. If she would let the other side of the argument be given, instead her YouTube channel only allows comments she approves- which is positive agreement with everything she says. Any polite attempt to argue for porn is discarded, couple this with the ridiculous figure on her sites & the porn is satan spin she puts on them & there is no balance at all.

She can never win of course, because men & many women are always going to be horny & want to see something different from what their partners will do, this is why prostitution is the world's oldest profession & why porn will be around forever.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Simple answer: Perform medical experiments on paedophiles rather than letting them back into society.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I think we are all misinterpreting the real motive behind the poster.

For example project night life is not focused on abused women in the sex industry.... they are focused on helping out abused children. The iamatreasure website has sited instances in which the have helped out women in the sex industry but no where is it mentioned that it helps out women in the sex industry only.

Probably the poster is trying to motivate porn fans into making donations to the organizations.... which is good because, women and children (and even men) who have been abused need help regardless of weather they belong to the sex industry or not.

Very good post. But since this organization is relying on an unsubstantiated statistic to grab people's attention (what's the old saying, 83.72% of the statistics used in public are made up), it causes me to wonder how legitimate it really is. I mean, if I send them $100, where does that money go? I'm not saying this IS the case, but for all I know, $25 of my $100 goes for the director of ops to take a cab ride to the strip bar to look for these "fallen angels", $25 goes for drinks so he can talk to them, $25 goes for the motel room where he can "counsel" the angels in private and the other $25 goes for cigarettes.

All I'm saying is that they're off on the wrong foot in my mind because they're attaching hyperbolic stats to a social tragedy. It's a hard thing to accept, but there are a lot of people who use tragedies to enrich themselves or take advantage of the kindness of well meaning strangers. If they are legit, they should dispense with the make believe stats and be very clear about what it is that they are doing.

blah, blah, blah... yada, yada, yada

Let me tell you something, Philbert! Aw snap, I guess I won't. What a tragedy. Oh well...

I have nothing against Crissy Moran. I respect her views. She knows the goods and bads of the porn game. She has a right to help women in need. Women in porn have already abused themselves as is. Some(not all) get into doing hard drugs or commit suicide. When you think about it it's a vicious cycle. Sometimes I wonder how women really survive in the porn game dispite all the bullshit they go through personally and professionally.

i think that once someone has made sex a career choice they've probably already worked out any issues they've had in the past sexually if there are any...the ones who need help are the ones who are having trouble coming to terms with what happened to them and aren't comfortable enough with themselves to have a normal sex life, let alone make a career out of it...just because someone was sexually abused in their past doesn't mean they're struggling or suffering from it, people can get over it, both with help and on their own and lead a normal life (with a healthy sex life) with only momentary thoughts of sadness or anger if any at all...no different than any other type of bad memory :2 cents:
