A woman I work with who plays videogames on her Xbox online told me that she never uses a headset anymore and had to change her username to something that doesn't indicate she's female because why? Random anonymous guys will send her pics of their or someone else's dick and usually with messages like "You like?" Do guys actually think this works? Why the fuck would you do that? I don't know any girl that likes that! Freakin idiots I've talked to other girls who have said the same things from social networking sites! I don't get it!

Not to mention that if the girl is underage you could get into some serious trouble

I play DC Universe Online and one of my league mates is a girl. She's has players follow her all through out the game and ask her out on dates constantly. The things she and other girls in the game have to go through is ridiculous. I can understand why some of the girls only play with other girls, use a voice changer or don't speak at all. She told me the main reason she joined my league is because of the way we treat her. Like a regular gamer and with respect.

Back when I was a gamer, ya knew who was who and what was what. When Julie had the football and you went a little high while grabbing for the flag and got some boobage, ya knew damn well she was a girl. But, even from my years playing Everquest, it was the same thing. I was one of the few openly female gamers on our server and all the propositions I got was insane. Thankfully, they couldn't just send me emails with dick picks.

A gamer is someone who plays games. Usually the type of gamer is put in front of the word gamer to clear up any confusion, such as a tabletop or pen&paper gamer, PC gamer, consul gamer, board gamer, etc...
