San Fransisco Giants win the World Series?

Fuck anyone that's a Giants fan. And fuck you. Yes, you, the person reading this. My fucking Cubs didn't win again for only the 102nd consecutive year. I honestly quit watching in July. I hate my favorite teams. :(

^ The only remedy is seppuku.

That would be much less painful than losing every goddamn year! Christ, I don't care if we go all NY style and buy a World Series. Just win one before I die.

Yank, yank. Baseball season ended in July. Fuck the Giants and fuck the Rangers.

Actually, I forgot baseball was still going on. It's true.
When I first heard someone say the Giants won, I thought they were talking about the football team. But apparently there was a "world" series going on.

But hey, most of these people didn't give a shit when our Blackhawks won the cup back in June, so I say fuck it.

:surprise: I definitely fucking noticed. I hardly missed a game last year and haven't missed one this year (when they've been televised). I have a Patrick fucking Sharp jersey on a hanger right now on my closet door. So yeah, some people noticed.

And from one Hawks fan to another

:hatsoff:

Contrary to the cliche, that's not actually the case. Hitting is what most directly predicts postseason success.

Not this year,or in '05 when my White Sox won it all.

Chicago noticed and that's all that matters. The NHL is still a niche sport and it's only relevant in a few cities one of them being Chicago.

Isn't that what the Cubs have been doing?? Aren't they like 3rd in payroll?

Maybe they should, I dunno, not blow money on overpaying past their prime players and overworking/trading their prospects.

Congrats Giants fans

Sadly, nobody will remember you won a week from now. Not surprisingly, this was the second lowest rated WS in history.

People just went to  instead of watch this thing....

Yeah even those.

Both years hitting was more important to the winning team than pitching. In 2005, the White Sox staff had a FIP of roughly 4.10, just a tad under the league average. For the playoffs, they had a FIP of 4.15. Their OPS+ during the season was 95, (100 being league average), compared to 108 in the playoffs. For the Giants, the pitching staff put up a 3.74 FIP during the season, and a 4.12 in the playoffs. Their OPS+ during the season was 97, slightly above average, and during the playoffs it was 115, which is top-tier.

If pitching were more important, it would stand to reason that pitching would perform at a higher level. Instead, looking at both staffs, their GB%, FB%, LD%, and the average movement on the pitches from all of the pitchers involved stayed almost identical from season to postseason, meaning the only significant change was the rate of contact, which is to say hitting made the difference.

:sleep::sleep: Huh?? Whaaaa? Oh...baseball:facepalm:

A game for kids and stat nerds.

Congrats to the Giants Iam a Red Sox fan and it is nice to end a long period of not winning a world series. I was pulling for the Giants the whole way I think The Freak is a great pitcher

It was great to see them win it - not that Texas put up much of
a fight :1orglaugh

I saw them a few years ago when Bonds was playing for them, but
they are worlds away from that team I saw :hatsoff:
