Where would the guitar world be if Les did not participate in creating that immortal instrument.

I once owned a Les Paul guitar, and MAN it sounded so great :hatsoff:

I would be happy if one day when I die I leave such a milestone behind

A true pioneer in the development of the electric guitar like Leo Fender was.

R.I.P.

I would have to agree though Leo really stepped up the bar in regards to guitar amplifier design(really to me his greatest contribution). In some ways, Les Paul's greatest impact is on the art and technique of music recording. He basically invented the concept of multitrack recording with overdubs about a decade before it became common practice within the industry. Les lived an incredibly full life and his contributions will live long into the future.

Very sad news. A true pioneer of not just music, but technology as well. It was amazing to see how well he could not only design guitars, but play them as well. His contributions are innumerable, a true legend in music. I can remember picking up my first electric guitar, a Les Paul, truly sad to hear this news.

Very well said. He was not only an innovator, but a heck of a guitar player. He will be missed.

He created overdubbing. His name graces the head of one of the most classic guitar models of all time. And all guitarists ever owe him a debt. His death will be a tremendous loss.
