I have and ESP LTD H-1007 and no amplifier. I only use the computer for that (guitarix and rakarrack as effects programs), because I don't play in any live setting and most likely never will. I'm not anywhere near good enough for that yet and even if I was.. nope. Not gonna be gigging.

I just received my black Gibson SG from Sweetwater. Now I am getting an amp. I plan on getting the Boss Katana 100 Watt Mk II. It has a 100W, 50W, & 1/2W modes.

I suspect you like these Boss amps due to their transistor simulation of tube technology, which will keep you out of those tube problems friends of mine with Marshalls etc. tend to habe, and I will go on a limb:
