Rock band 3 announced for this holiday......thoughts?

Even though its "Rock Band" I figured we can "rap" about what we'd like to see in the game, what you think needs to be fixed, your own cool ideas etc.

Although I'm very much in the minority among hardcore Rock Band fans, I really enjoyed The Beatles Rock Band, and hope that Dhani Harrison can in fact bring to life the real instrument aspect of guitar in this years' iteration.

thats a great idea....I can see "jump" by Van Halen being a fun song to play, cause the keyboard phrase for that song is great.

I already figured that idea won't go over well with the majority like beetles rockband or that greenday faggot bullshit. All I can hope for is a decent track list with at least a handful of good songs. Would be nice to see some fucking pantera for once. Yet...I'm optimistic that wont' happen.

I saw a brief preview for some kind of guitar that uses LED's behind the frets to help people learn to play. I don't see why they couldn't incorporate something like that into a game like rockband. Probably won't be this time around though. But something that wouldn't surprise me if they came out with a game using something similar in the future!

Anything by the doors as well, man Harmonix really needs to look into puttin keys in there or at least making a keyboard hero sort of thing.

Yeah, the concept for such a game has been around for a couple of years, but nothing has solidified yet. Dhani Harrison, however has stated multiple times that this is his major goal for the franchise in the near future, so while it may not be this iteration, it will definitely be a part of the franchise soon.

I'm with you there. Plus, it'll broaden the appeal of the game which I think is a really really good thing.

In Rock Band 2, the World Tour mode made you replay songs you had already beaten numerous times. If I beat a song in Chicago, why the fuck do I have to play it again in some other city? That was the only problem I had with the game. Once you beat a song, it should not be played again, unless you choose to.

They need to improve their track lists too. The amount of garbage getting onto these games is ridiculous. I know the DLC is where the good songs are, but I don't want to spend all that money to play some shit songs and have to wait for good songs to be released as DLC and spend MORE money on those.

They should let you create your own charts for your own songs. Or have a request website or something. I'd gladly pay more for DLC if I got to choose the songs in the pack. If I want to play songs by Pantera, Minus The Bear and Unearth, let me send a request and pay a bit more for it. This probably isn't practical, but I would like to see it.

Sorry guys I am broke so all I could get was the game. I am still wanting to get the keyboard. I suck at the 5 button guitar on hard so I am going to probably never get the pro mode version, lol.
