rc helicopters

anyone else here into em? i just bought my first one, and honestly i think i got a bit ahead of myself with the type i bought. it was awesome for about 20 minutes till i ran it into a chair and there goes the main rotor blades.....

on a side note if anyone knows a super cheap site to go to get parts..... ud have a new best friend in me for sharing......

I imagine that you get what you pay for, yeah ?

How big is this copter that crashed into the chair, about 8'' (fuselage) or is it the next size up ? Do you have a manufacturer and part # ?

I just bought an Air Hogg, from a guy at work, that's really into remote control flying. I gotta say, I'm having a ****** fucker of a time learning how to keep this thing level and flying straight. I only paid $25 bucks for it, and it's been fun, but it's really starting to frustrate me. I might buy a park flyer (airplane) in the future, I've always wanted an RC plane, you can get them pretty inexpensively now a days. When I hit the lotto, I'll be shopping here....

I've got one of those miniZ heli's that can fly indoors :P

And a bigger one, but since i crashed it i didn't have time to fix it :tongue:
crash was almost a year ago now
 
I like rc cars, if something goes wrong they don't fall out of the sky or sink to the bottom of a lake. I like tower hobbies for supplies.
 
I have a small one that I tool around with indoors. I did buy a pack of blades as they are easy to break when crashing indoors. It is after all a toy, so its life is limited.............
 
id prolly want a couple of sets of the wood blades untill i get better with it. i just ordered the carbon fiber ones but im scared imma ruin those. and they were 50 bucks!
 
Holy crap, I wish I had a camera with me today. I was on my way back to the shop, after doing some p.u. & del. this morning, and landing in the parking lot of the Ford, Cleveland Engine plant, was a Sikorsky Sky crane...fucking thing was HUGE, and loud. It was so cool, but I was driving, and couldn't stop on the road.
 
My youngest ******* has been building his own rc helicopters and planes since he was a ***...super passionate about it and now he's an aircraft mechanic!

But he's always used Premium Link Upgrade for his stuff. Hope that helps!
 
I'm huge into RC cars, but not helicopters. I have always had bad thoughts that I would lose radio transmission and watch my $1000 helicopter fly away into the sunset.

I do like making my RC cars fly like helicopters though :D.
 
ok guys. horror story alert. so i finally fixed my chopper yesterday at work and i was givin it the ol test flight to see how it runs. a guy from work comes by and acts like hes gunna kick it outta the sky so i land it and im like dood seriously? knock it off. shits expensive. so he stops and watches me fly it. hes like wow dood thats cool can i try? i tell him no. repeatedly. he doesnt stop whining until i give in. i give him a quick down n dirty on how to fly. he cranks collective all the way up which makes the chopper jump into the sky, he gets scared, and dumps collective, thus driving the chopper strait into the floor. after a short internet search, im out $67 and 2 weeks waiting time to get the parts. he says id pay for it if i could but im broke. sorry man. and walks away. fuck my life.

If I were you, I would go out to his car, jack the rims, and sell em.
 
i work with the guy every day. i cant b pullin that kinda bullshit on someone i work with.

You mean, like the kind of bullshit he pulled on you? If you feel that's excessive, then tell him he owes you $10 bucks a week, for 8 weeks, or $15 for 5 weeks. Make up a payment sheet, and every time he makes a payment, both of you initial it. Point is, he owes you, and the fact that he said, what he said, the way he said it, tells me, it's more like he doesn't want to pay for it, not that he can't.
 
so he brought up the payin for it thing again yesterday, actin like i was cryin about it tryin to get money outta him makin me feel like an ass for askin for it. he does have some financial hardship issues which he and i have talked about in the past but still, he did break an expensive toy of mine......
