Random Statement Thread II

also why is god a he? i don't think a theoretical creature like that would really have a specific gender

It could be because of the way the rules of most languages are. In them I think whenever somebody or something's gender is unknown or ambiguous a male pronoun is supposed to be used in that case.

It could also be from people taking the line where God created man in his image too literally, which is what I think has happened.

^logical...plus everything was entirely male dominated when the bible was written (both parts)...then perhaps there is the factor of people just not wanting to call god 'it'

The most captivating, most surreal, most fascinating, strangest and funniest read that I've had here on FreeOnes so far must be the Premium Link Upgrade .   I just hope that it doesn't start going over the top and end up being closed.

Oh and on the god question... George Carlin had an excellent theory on why god must be a man. :)

No one seems to have covered the idea that - IF there is a god - that it created the universe by accident and without knowing it, and then died. It miscarried this big ball of gas, leaving us without anyone to raise us. We are latch-key **** among the stars. :yinyang:
