The video you provided bears no reflection on whites..it bears reflection on the people in that video. Dude...no group owns the mercy award for invading or colonizing. There has always been at minimum subjugation. In some cases relegating indigenous populations to second and even tertiary class citizens.

I would tend to second this and add that it's only exacerbated by race baiting. As race baiters do more harm than actual racists bigots IMO.

But the sad reality is...there is a currency in divisiveness (in particularly racial divisions) and no side has clean hands.

As illustrated by the one of the videos linked in this thread..there is nothing that serves as a catalyst for inciting than some attack or altercation between races.

It's a certainty the video made the rounds on every race baiting site on the web as a means to incite.

A) show that the words race and racism are way overused and misapplied.

B) racism comes from many groups, not just white folks.

There's a zero percent chance I'm reading through each and every post in this thread. I'm sure it's all the same old shit that's been said before, so there's no need for me to waste my time reading it all again. With that being said, I just want to say one thing to all of these people who are truly interested in having an adult discussion about racism...

White people get treated with racism just as much as other people do. Just because someone is a "minority", it doesn't make the racism they cope with any worse than the racism a white person faces.

Also, I don't know what the current statistics are, but it won't be too much longer now before Caucasians are the minority. Then what? Can us white people use our "minority" status as a justifiable reason as to why our lives are so much harder than everybody elses when things get tough for us? No, we can't. Nobody would ever buy it (which is just a subtle form of racism, but I won't "go there"). So, people just need to shut the fuck up about "minorities" and how hard they have it. We're at the point in this country (USA) where the minority argument is moot. We're a melting pot. No one color, race or ethnicity of people has a domination of the population anymore. So, quit crying, grow the fuck up and get over it.

I'm not saying that we're past the point of discrimination - as if racism doesn't exist. What I'm saying is that too many people use their "minority" status as some sort of guilt trip when they talk about how "bad" the racism is that they face.

Personally, I'm tired of hearing people say things "You don't know how hard it is to be black in this country" or "I'm Mexican, so I have to put in twice the amount of hard work as you do just to get by". And, society makes it seem as if they're reasoning for how hard they have it is actually a justifiable feeling. Bullshit.

When I worked in restaurants out in Chicago, I worked nearly 100 hours a week and busted my ASS for hours and hours every day, hardly ever getting a break, slaving over hot stoves, suffering from burns, cuts and exhaustion on nearly a daily basis. But, I made hardly any money. The most I ever made in a week, for nearly 100 hours of work, was $300.

Whereas, the non-English speaking Mexican (illegal immigrant, by the way) who washed dishes for 40 hours a week - who mostly fooled around the whole time and didn't work all that hard - was making $12/hour. Wow, it must suck for him, being Mexican and all. You know, having to put in twice as much work as I did just to scrape by.

I know that's only one example, but it happens all the time. And, people are too ignorant to see how bias their own claims of racism are.
