I would think the adult industry would face a greater danger than the music or mainstream movie industries. Being a "dirty" genre, as Doc said, no politician is going to the podium for them.
I would bet the amount of money the adult industry loses to piracy dwarfs that of the other industries...but I never was good at betting.

Not true. Depends on what area they work in. XXX is taking a hard hit right now. Scenes that used to pay well are paying a lot less.
You can do well if you have your own site and do private web cam shows. It depends on a lot of factors, but it is not easy.

well sure, in this digital age, piracy is widespread, but the industry should also remember that because of internet, they are able sell many times as much porn, and to people who vould never dare to enter a store and buy it.

The major studios should just get together and develop a system like iTunes where you can download whatever scene you want for a certain cost. This way if you like a particular actress then you don't need to pay for a subscription to every site she does work for or buy every DVD she appears in. It's a simple concept that can lend itself to studio releases and independent releases for people like cam girls. This is why the Tube sites are such a big success apart from being free.
