Well, of course he does. And Limbaugh has the right to say what he did (and does, on a daily basis for around 3 hours a day - last time I checked). And people have the right to demand apologies. They might not always get them, but they can demand 'em. Sometimes it all starts interesting conversations about subjects more important than "America Idol" (or anyone's particular country's version of that)...
It depends. One doesn't have to be religious (or, specifically, Jewish) to have a sense that they've done wrong and maybe should apologize. I think it's called being magnanimous, on both sides of the offender-offended equation... Apologizing can be a very positive thing, not just for the person who receives it... Going back to the original point of this thread, Palin also does not have to condemn Limbaugh for using the word in the exact same insulting sense, but if she doesn't - or actually defends him to some extent as she did - she will expose herself as wildly inconsistent and laughably hypocritical and the crassest kind of juvenile mind, playing petty "team" politics (Rahm's remark indefensible, Limbaugh's defensible - despite the obvious same type of usage) over and above the principle (demanding respect for kids like her son) that she has repeatedly touted as so important to her.
Ummm....no, not really. He didn't "repeat" what Rahm said, he said this:
"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards."
Note the repeated use of the word retards. He didn't say simply that Rahm called a bunch of people retards. He said that they ARE retards, and that that is why Rahm used that word. So he completely and absolutely utilized the insult/slur (referring to mentally disabled people) in addition to repeating the gist of Rahm's (private, but still lame) comment.
