Operation Control and Rescue 100 Cats in Need

For the last five years me and my husband have taken care as much as we could of the over grown and over growing cats population in our area: we have rescued the ill, fed the malnourished, adopted the homeless, sheltered the weak, and neutered, loved and relocated as many toms as we could. Unfortunately we have also "buried" a lot of unlucky felines, often newborns, who didn't make it into the winter. I only know how much we have spent in time and most of all in money trying to contain a situation which nonetheless is now out of control. We live in a residential are by the sea where most of the houses remain vacant outside the summer period; the cats population keep multiplying season after season; there is not enough food, the local authorities won't help to fix the situation and with an ongoing economic crisis families won't adopt kittens, most of all because it costs to neuter them. So far, we have neutered 37 cats at our expenses; currently we are sheltering and taking direct care of 15 adult cats and 27 newborns, some with their mom, some orphans and we spend 25 Euros a day or 9000 Euros a year just on food. But this is just the pick of the iceberg and the iceberg is growing bigger and bigger.

We need your help

As I said, local authorities remain indifferent to the proliferation of the cats' population in our area and we alone cannot cope with it. The local animal organization has not been helpful either: all we get from them is neutering at a discounted price, but it is still 100 Euros to neuter a cat; plus we need food and further vet help to cure the numerous cases of respiratory tract infections and ringworm. This massive proliferation leads to the existence of colonies in each neighborhood garden and to the consequent poisoning of a lot of cats especially by vacationers who don’t want to deal with the problem.

Our first goal is to neuter 100 specimens, 50 adults and 50 kittens. The neutering of the adults will immediately have a positive impact on next heat season, while the neutering of the kittens, on top of that, will also allow us to find a new home for them. This operation alone will cost close to 10,000 Euros and needs to be done now, before the kittens become independent and most cats go into heat once again.

Our second goal is to give the neutered kittens out for adoption: we want to organize a couple of MEOW afternoons inviting families with kids and offering them some refreshments while they hopefully can fall in love with the little furry balls and offer them a new life filled with affection and care. We know by experience that if the cats are neutered they will find a new home.

If we can collect enough from your generosity, we will also take care of the most seriously ill cats by having them treated. I know some of you might think that this should be our priority, but it's just common sense: if we burn our budget in medication, first, the population will keep increasing and we will have more and more ill cats; while if we act to contain the population, first, it will be easier to sustain it and to consequentially limit the chances that more cats get ill. Please, if you can't donate share: we really need any help you can offer.

We will give back

Our goal is to raise 10,000 Euros to make a difference immediately. Most kittens are already one month old and we would like to start neutering them sooner than later because it is going to be much easier to find a new home for them in the summer period, without counting that when they become 5 months old they could potentially go into heat. The truth is that whatever we raise we raise and everything helps, but to make an impact we need to act on 100 cats and do it now. To encourage those of you who have the financial possibility to offer a more concrete help, I am going to offer you back a return of investment: a 1% share of the profits from my http://DeepSabrina.com website for every 500 Euros you donate for one year up to 20% max. I can assure you that you will profit from it. This is my way to contribute to the funding too, diluting my expenses in time, in the hope that we can reach at least the goal as soon as possible.

If you cannot or don't want to contribute financially, you can still help, assuming that you are ok with that:

If you would like to get more info over the Return of Investment reward, feel free to message me or better contact me at info AT deepsabrina.com

Ultimately, I would like to send a sincere GO FUCK YOURSELF to the Spanish local authorities and to all those animal organizations financed with our taxes and donations which in reality don't give a flying fuck about animals' welfare: may the ringworm be with you!

To all of you, thanks for reading and much gratitude to those who will help.

I have just been informed by GoGetFunding.com that per their policy, we cannot offer the RoI reward. It's a bummer, but it is what it is. I have just replaced it with the chance to win a one week holiday at my place, including flight, for two. Who knows...maybe I'll meet one of you soon and I will thank you in person. Have a great weekend everybody. I'm headed to Germany to make some dough for my cause.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Glad to see you back here posting again,

Being an animal person (and being especially fond of cats), this sounds like a very worthy cause. I agree with looking at population control. I promise to look at this as soon as I get back in tomorrow.

What an amazing job you are doing! I am in between right now in my life. Once things settle down, I want to donate!

I was actually looking for that website RoI reward. I'm not really a cat person, just seeing one makes my skin crawl, but I'll try to support your cause.

As someone has already said, here in America it is also a growing problem. I see feral and wild cats roaming the streets regularly. There are low cost and free cat welfare agencies locally, but not the case in all areas. Good cause. I urge everyone to help out in all and any ways they can.

We're going to sticky this post to the top, because FreeOnes cares about the pussy.

Cats make me sneeze and itch something furious. Not a big fan. Cute little buggers tho.

I've already made my contribution tho, to MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I called animal control about being overun by dozens of cats and they said they couldn't do anything. So what did I do after they destroyed the paint on my car, ruined my shrubbery, used my garden as a litter box and made my porch smell like a urinal? I got a few of those box traps and baited them with tuna. I was trapping 3per day. Sometimes I would get other critters too racoon's, possums, squirrels, and even a skunk. All of them were relocated to a wooded area about 15 miles away. I mean, they were wild animals anyway. Cept for the skunk, I had to kill that. But it was easy, just filled a 50gal tote with water and paid the neighbor kid $5 to go dunk the trap in. Worked out well
