These things will probably cost us an arm and a leg but I would still likely buy it.

I remember about 10 years or more ago I played a virtual reality arcade at a cafe where you sat inside a pod like ship and flew a space craft around shooting down similar ships. It looked pretty basic but when the game was over my head was so close to my stomach and my neck was in so much pain. I had lost focus on my neck positioning so much from just watching the screens inside the mask I couldn't believe that was possible.

I first heard about this a month ago, if it's reasonably priced and got some good developers behind it, I'm all for it! I would love to play a game like Elder Scrolls with these, now that would be total immersion

Now, that's interesting!

The more I read about this the more interested I am, hopefully it'll get a lot of developers behind it and also be decently priced

In discussing launch plans for the device, Iribe said the Oculus Rift is expected to be publicly released for $300. However, through potential subsidized offers, the headset could be free sometime in the future, he said

Sounds good to me...

Sony has their own version of a VR headset - possibly based on Rift if the whispers are accurate - that they will be releasing with the PS4. No word on any Microsoft VR peripheral, but you can bet they will quickly pony up moolah for Rift to work on the Xbox One if there is positive response to Sony's offering.

Rift is well ahead with lower possible price point and hardware specs. If it becomes compatible on Xbox One it would work awesome with kinect.

A friend of mine is a dev, so I got to play with this little thing for an evening. It is awesome. It will revolutionize gaming. Even something as simple as Google Earth Street View looks fantastic on this thing.
