I am going to start this year's thread with congratulations to Mandy for winning the final vote of 2012 to become the OCSM of the Week of the Year and with a nomination for Miss Hybrid for the first of the New Year.

I am going to start this year's thread with congratulations to Mandy for winning the final vote of 2012 to become the OCSM of the Week of the Year and with a nomination for Miss Hybrid for the first of the New Year.

So, I assume we're sticking with the same rules, and by that logic, the previous winner, Mandy, can't be nominated. Therefore, I'll nom the runner-up, Briana Lee. If she was good enough to place 1 vote behind the winner and get 15 of the 46 votes, she must be good enough for a nom


Just for a bit of new year honesty and commentary here, so humor me for a moment here, I know the rules are the rules and why the previous winner isn't allowed in the running for the following week, wanting to spread the love around. But it would seem to me that if anything, the previous winner should be an automatic in for the next week, as they apparently did enough to win, and in my mind, girls should be nomed for the previous weeks performance, and voted on based on that week's performance. Although I know in reality, it's more of a 'who we like best.' Besides, just because they won the week before is no guarantee they'll win the following week. And while it seems to be mostly an effort to have 5 girls in the running each week, obviously that doesn't always happen, and the last week's winner could help fill out a shorter list week, or so what if there's 6 or 7 in the running?

Agreed. It's a new year on a new thread, so there has not actually been an OCSM of the Week this year as yet, and the final vote was different to the normal week anyway.

Post them anyway Jitna. I'm sure at some point you'll have to remind someone of the rules. Better to have them on the first page. Or even better, if it's possible let a mod change the first post by adding them.

Well, I didn't know the origin of the rule, and I hafta say, that was very nice of Miss Hybrid to instigate it so others could win instead of her so much. Thank you for explaining that, because I had wondered how that rule came into being, and I thought that maybe the start of a new year and a new contest was the best time to bring it up.

And as to nomming Queen Mandy, why don't we maybe wait and see if we get the 5 girls, and if not, then we'll add her for the 5th?

I think every OCSM should be fair game but with that being said I may start giving some noms and love to OCSMs who have not had the chance to win yet.

Although I will admit this will be difficult considering the amazing cast of ladies we have who have been OCSMs of the week and for good reason.

As Miss H says, the love should be spread around granted I will listen to just about anything she says and/or asks
