Obama may be the first biracial president

Half white, half black a quarter Scandanavian twice removed on his mothers paternal great aunts grandmothers sisters fathers side.
What is the point?
To me just thinking along those lines is slightly racist.
He's Human right? Ah bueno.
And I don't think Fox was even remotely trying to make an issue out of the fact that Obama has white friends or colleagues.
Lets get serious.

Take a Hit, Spunker!
Then how in the hell do you explain all of the Presidents that we've had? I don't remember seeing any albino Presidents.:)

OK I'll rephrase that: If you're of mixed-race-color in this country, you'll won't last long as President.

OK I'll rephrase that: If you're of mixed-race-color in this country, you'll won't last long as President.

that's the reason why Obama and Clinton won't take the other as their running mate.

Conspiracy...
If he does win, he won't last more than a year. I'm sorry to say this, but in America, if you're not white as snow, you will not be President for a long period of time. It's sad but true.

He may last if he sticks to their agenda.

JFK didn't look what happened to him. ;)

For the record, a couple of people on the street getting questions wrong doesn't make the entire nation stupid.

However, Bush getting into the White House twice makes an entire nation stupid.

There are more than a few people that couldn't answer those questions. American's have been effectively dumbed down.
Just watch "Want to be a millionaire", "Are you smarter than a 5th grader", and so on.

The choices for President weren't great. Two people that are basically the same were the choices.

Ron Paul is the best option this time and the media will not give him enough air time.
Wonder why?

not black. It seems America still adheres to the one-drop rule. I was thinking about this as I was watching Fox News (such a failure of a channel) and they were discussing how "a black man surrounds himself with so many white people."

It's sad, but it seems little to no progress is being made.

I think it is shame that it might come down to race that is he is not a viable candidate vs McCain... Black, Red or Green. I could care less that he is not "bubba" quality, i prefer a level headed and reasonable minded President!

Look at the primarys. He's winning.
95% of voters who are black vote for him.
Like 60%-70% of voters who are white and under 55 vote for him.
The only main weakness he has is older white votes who like Mcain and Clinton better, mostly because they feel Obama is too young and inexperienced and seniors have a high voter turnout.

So if anything his race is an advantage or at the very least not harming his chances. What signs show that it is a disadvantage?

Is bubba a racial slur?

^^Good for you - recognize Hillabeast for what she really is.

What i love about what obama is doing is he is getting all young people involved in voting especially the colleges.. that is going to be a key factor in november.

is that a joke? "ala" 'this or that' is a expression that means in 'reference to'.

"ala bush vs. gore" = "as in bush vs. gore" Or "such as Bush vs. gore." for example.

yes obama is bi-racial but i think the reason why networks are saying ""oh first black man with a serious running for president" is that they are so caught up in the conept that someone with such a high visible black features is running for presdient..he obvioulsy doesn't look anything like any of the presidents we have ever had so they will hype it up and just call him black or african american and not even say anything about him being white. also i think the "one drop" rule is still in the minds of a lot of people....we all know it was put into place to try and keep the races seperate and all that stuff but even though it has failed it it is still th minds of peopel to still label peple as just being black if they even look like they can pass for black....also black features are dominate over white features when it comes to genetics and what not so that plays a part to....

my son and daughter are going to be bi-racial...i'm black and my girlfriend is of portuguese descent and i'm planning on marrying her soon...heheh just had to throw that in there

"Who's fidel castro?"

"A singer?

"What religion are buddhist monks?"

"I don't know."

When I first watched that video I thought that those people must be hand picked so I decided to ask some folks those same questions and I was shocked at how many people couldn't name three countries in South America, or looked stumped after I asked them to name a country that started with the letter U. What really kills me are the people that think 'Muslim' is the Israels national religion.

On topic. I want Obama because I feel he represents me and not because I'm black. During the time in which 70% of the country was in favor of the Iraq war 60-80% of African Americans were against it with the range hanging on how you phrased the question. As a part of that 60-80% I cant not stomach another Democrat that didnt have the common sense to avoid giving a President thats not qualified to chew buckwheat the authority to conduct an unnecessary war. Obama was not just against the war he illustrated all that could and did go wrong.

Being a horse of a different color and name has helped him draw attention other than that it was all on his campaign to take advantage of the attention.

If Obama was white, married to a black women and just as articulate on race issues he would still get 60-70% of the black vote against Clinton and 85-95% against McCain and he would still struggle to get more than 45% of the white vote. A Democratic Presidential candidate hasn't won the majority of the white vote since LBJ.

All and all I his race will probably hurt him somewhat. Even as unpopular as Bush is there are about five to eight states in the deep south and about five in the midwest that Democrats couldn't win if Jesus himself was running. The 'get out' of the black vote may help him win some border south states like Virginia, and North Carolina, and he may also win a young college state Colorado but its not going to help him in the battleground states that Clinton won. I have my issues with Clinton but I think he wins easy with her on the ticket and he is in a horse race without her. If he was white I think he would win easy without Clinton.

hmmmmmm i might just have to ask some questions myself . i do find it ashamed that in West Virgina democractic primaries whites overwhelming voted for hilary clinton and they also factored in that her race was th reason why they voted for her...people say ooh blacks are racist and voted for obama well a lot of whites are doing the exact same thing with hilary clinton

The way I hear my parents and their friends talk about how John F Kennedy made them feel...this is the way Barack Obama makes me feel right now. He makes me believe that we can take all of the embarrassments and disasters that have made up the George W Bush years and actually fix them and turn our country around...Turning our country around..feels as hopeless a task as putting a man on the moon probably felt way back in the day...

Exactly. Hilary and McCain have nothing to prove and really offer nothing new to the table.

Obama has his promises and knows that if he doesnt deliver every single day then he'll lose it all. People didnt impeach clinton or bush despite all the talk over trivial matters.. a black president stands about zero chance of feeling *safe* in the white house with racists and 'old-south' style politics still swaying power in our lower half.
