Re: the Official Nikki Nova thread

Nah I dont wear tassles. I wear a shirt that on the back says "crowd fluffer" and has our band name on the front. Sometimes I wear face paint or a mask. last show I had our recent drummer's daughter draw on my face before the show.

facepaint like KISS?

Jitna it's only 8:30 am in the morning on Thursday. My webmaster isn't even at work yet. Today is our last day to work on it before he leaves town so there's much to be done. As I've said before many times , I will announce it when all is up and running smoothly...until then....please be patient. It's all I have been working on every single day. Most days 16 hours a day so...you have NO IDEA how much work has been and is being put into this right now. It is going to be the best megasite there is on the net.... BY FAR!!!!

Re: the Official Nikki Nova thread

Let's exchange weather patterns for a day, Nikki. It's been raining non-stop here since Monday. Flooding everywhere. We've just had 2 tropical storms pass through and they say another one is coming.

That sounds like pure heaven to me right now! Technically it is monsoon season here but we haven't had the first monsoon yet. They usually don't kick in until July and August. I LOVE monsoons in the desert. It's hot as fuck and dry and then out of nowhere the sky turns dark and the winds gust and in some cases you can barely see from all of the desert sand and dust kicking up. Then crazy loud thunder starts and lightning bolts that don't even look real they're so intense and then the rain just pours down. As soon as the rain starts the dust clears and it feels like pure magic. I love swimming in my pool during a monsoon. I've been chomping at the bit waiting for the first one to hit. Come on......storms! haha

No no no. Hurricanes are created when the weather starts to cool down from the heat of the summer created the pressure systems that create hurricanes. I know a little something about this coming from a long line of fisherman back on the east coast, Southeast to be exact. Hurricanes season in the states at leats doesn't start for a couple/few months still. I will be back east during hurricane season. Looking forward to it actually. haha. I will be traveling around a lot over the next 7 months. Quite the nomad I will be.

Lessons to be learned:
1. Patience is a virtue.
2. Nikki is a big girl. When she has an announcement, she is capable of making it herself without any prodding.
3. When done, Nikki's new & improved site will be one of the best on the web.

Hurricanes season in the states at least doesn't start for a couple/few months still.
Actually, that is incorrect. Hurricane season in the States has already begun. It runs from June 1st through November 30th each year. So, we are into the 4th week of hurricane season already.

Now, I have some shit I have to take care of tomorrow. I was going to do it today, but I've had a hard time staying awake for any real length of time...so I put it off until tomorrow...hoping I will feel better then. There is a possibilty that I won't be around again for awhile...so if that is the case, and I don't have a chance to stop by tomorrow...I just wanted to take the time to say good bye to everyone...for now anyway. I'll still be around today yet...no promises beyond that. It would seem as though my work is done here anyway. See jitna...even Jon has an "off button"! Ha ha ha!

Well not the part of the states that I grew up in. Maybe where you are but not where I'm from. Tropical storms yes....but hurricanes never happened until the end of the summer and into the fall. I lived it.

As much as I HATE quoting myself, I wanted to add this, but I ran out of time. If I am away for any length of time, DON'T miss me (not even pretending to)...I'm REALLY not that important, and things will go on as they normally do. I'm sure Nikki, jitna, and the rest of you will keep things active in my stead...assuming I am away for any length of time.

Like I said, if I'm not able to come back anytime soon, it's good bye...for now. If not, and I'm not away for any length of time, I'll pop back in tomorrow evening. Just wanted to play it safe and say good bye so I don't just dissapear...if it comes to that.

I'm just going by what is technically hurricane season for the Atlantic basin according to the National Hurricane Center.

The official hurricane season for the Atlantic Basin (the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico) is from 1 June to 30 November.

One of the worst hurricanes of the 1970's...Hurricane Agnes actually hit in late June 1972 and had a MAJOR impact all the way from central Virgina through central Pennsylvania...all the way up to the Finger Lakes region of New York. So, that one hit the east coast even. I don't think there is anyone actually old enough to rember Hurricane Agnes...but I heard about it AND, it was a historic storm and a strom of legends...if there is such a thing. It was bad enough to cause them to retire the name "Agnes".

June hurricanes are RARE as Hell...but, like I said, Hurricane season actually starts on June 1st and runs through November 30th. Of course, August through September is actually typically the most active part of Hurricane Season for the Atlantic basin.

Jitna, it took you over an hour to pop by following Nikki this time...you're slipping!:nono: ha ha ha!

Now, I can only assume this applies to you based upon the information provided...ha ha ha!:

On average, South Carolina experiences a land-falling hurricane
every seven years. Between 1900 and 2000, 14 hurricanes
made landfall along the coast of South Carolina including three
major hurricanes: Hurricane Hugo (1989), Hurricane Gracie (1959),
and Hurricane Hazel (1954). These South Carolina hurricanes made the
Top 40 Most Intense Hurricanes in a study by scientists at the National
Hurricane Center. Rankings were based on minimum central pressures
at the time of landfall. Hugo ranked #11 on the list, followed by Hazel
at #13, and Gracie at #33. Although major hurricanes are rare for the
coastal sections of South Carolina, averaging one every 25 years, the
impact realized in property damages and loss of life makes each of these
storms worthy of note.
Source: South Carolina State Climatology Office

So yeah, they are fairly rare for your neck of the woods. Not as rare as Pennsylvania...but rare just the same. They still talk about Agnes in PA, and that was nearly 40 years ago. Ha ha ha!
