Marine One radio glitch delays Bush departure
WASHINGTON - A radio problem on Marine One kept President Bush waiting around for a motorcade this morning.
Bush and his senior advisers were already on board with the helicopter blades swirling, when the engine was shut down and the president got off.
After assuring reporters on the White House lawn that "everyone's safe," the president took a few moments to shake hands with visitors who were around to see his departure.
Bush had to wait for police to gather to escort him to the Maryland suburbs and Andrews Air Force Base. The president was headed for Tuskegee, Alabama to review and talk about innovative technology.
