Very true Mauser98k .... but that wont be your only interrogation this season regarding Melrose's decisions i fear. It was a total mystake to hire that coach :(

I wonder if tonight we (MontreaL) are gonna use Laraque as we play Phoenix and Carcillo is suspended. Laraque have only played 4 shifts last game, he isnt totally recovered from his injury.

The game is about to start so i will know soon enough :)

...

Haha, i just heared while i was typing that Laraque is going to play tonight!

Go Habs go!

Fedoruk is dressed for the Coyotes. McGrattan is a scratch. Carcillo would get destroyed by Laraque since Carcillo is not a HW fighter. I'm into collecting hockey fights so I know a bit about players in this portion of the game.

Tanguay scores again! 3-0 Habs.

It have been insane so far in 2nd period. Lots of fights. High sticks. Andrei Kostitsyn even left the ice on a stretcher after being hit, might be quite serious. Phoenix arent able to play hockey so they are playing a really dirty cheal shot game...

Curt Sauer have now a price on his head.

Laraque and Kostopoulos have won their fights hopefully.

***UPDATE***

Lang just scored. His 3rd of the seasons. 4-0 Habs at the end of 2nd period.

Fedoruk and Laraque are fighting... Laraque is litterally ******* him! That silly Fedorok have been running after Komisarek all the 2nd period, ignoring Laraque's multiple invitation for fighting.

The game is totally out of control. The Refs are totally out tonight...

Phoenix 1 - Montreal 4 (final)

after 2, it's still 0-0 in the Wild/Tampa game. Tampa is MUCH better in this game than they have been. Stamkos almost had his first goal, they have serious energy in this game and i'll be damned if Paul Ranger doesn't look like Dan Boyle II. Ranger is paired with Meszaros and they're a great combo.

oh, and Mike Smith has a special Saw 5 mask because the movies' producer (oren koules) is Tampa's main owner

what the fuck does Tampa have to do to win? 1-0 in a shootout, Minnesota.

Tampa played their best game in a long time and still couldn't win the damn game

*sigh*

i will say this, however, i was very impressed with every other aspect in the game. goaltending, defense, puck ******, and rushing were all outstanding, they just couldn't put the biscuit in the basket.

they need to keep playing the way they did tonight and sooner or later, the crap will stop falling on them.

Anyone taking notice of the Sabres? Missing three starting centers and no regulation losses.

Sabres are underrated this year. Lindy Ruff is really doing something great with his fast skaters.

Montreal 1st game of the season was in Buffalo. They got us on the shoutout. I have been impressed by their play.

Sabres are going to surprise a lot of people this year if they keep playing the way they do. :)

Went to the Wings vs Rangers game last night. Great show. Wings won in OT and it was Hossa getting his 1st as a Wing and career 300th.

purchased my ticket last night to the January 12, 2009 Lightning at Kings game. i can't wait. Row 11, seat 7 slightly to the right of one of the nets

You guys are lucky. Its impossible to find tickets for a Montreal Canadien game... Fans over here are renting buses to go see Habs playing in Buffalo, Ottawa, Boston, etc

I havent seen a game yet in the new forum (aka Bell Center) :(

i'd imagine it'd be damn near impossible to go see the Habs live in Montreal. that's the price you pay for greatness i suppose;).

this will be the 1st time i've ever seen the Lightning live. they're 3000 miles away from where i live so a home game isn't really practical

I didnt know Hockey was a sport until I saw this thread. I live in tampa and didnt know it was popular.

 go to a sports bar in the area and ask people if they know the name Vincent Lecavalier. i'd be willing to be more than half of them will.

Ask the same people if they know who David Koci is and I'd bet there'd be very few people who do. If you think it's impressive to have half of the people at a sports bar know who their home team's best player, captain, and superstar is then you haven't been to a true hockey town before.

Go to a place like Edmonton and well over half the people at the SUPERMARKET will know every player on the team as well as several prospects in the **** system. They'll know who Lecavalier is too, since he's one of the league's top ten forwards for sure. I'm glad there are at least some good fans like you, but hockey is just not popular in Tampa.
