Im watching the Rangers vs Bruins game and Sean Avery hit Tim Thomas in the back of the head with his stick, Thomas came charging after Avery. Almost had a brawl.

Avery is fucking goon.

Bruins clinced playoffs :)

I thought they were in danger of having the franchise revoked for being so awful!

Yes, I realize I'm kind a lippy for a Blue Jackets fan (franchise that has never made the playoffs)

we've been bad for 2 years. there are other teams that have been bad for much longer than us

Ha ha ha ha ha ha...Sean Avery, this guy is nothing more than pathetic. What a whiny fag. I only wish Thomas would have used his stick from behind on this whimp and then shove it down his throat or up his asshole.

Anyhow, the East is ours, and I really hope the Rangers make the postseason as the eighth team, can't wait for this beatdown. And then bring on the Habs.

NFL > NHL

The NHL needs characters. Avery is there. Ovechkin is kind of there. Roenick was there. Same with Hull. They need these guys.

The NFL is full of criminals and felons and i thank God the NHL is not. fuck the National Felon League. not to mention the NFL is boring as all hell. way too slow paced and they barely do anything when they're moving

lol Barely doing anything when they're moving? Now I know not to take anything you say seriously.

Criminals and felons may be true. But they are the best athletes in the world, and american football is the quintessential team sport. Far more entertaining then hockey.

Hockey has been losing it's luster for years now, and guys like Avery are finally bringing back that edge that has been missing. Guys that play with some passion. But you want that gone.

NFL players are active for about 15 seconds and then huddle and set up for close to a minute before doing the same thing over and over again. hockey players move continuously and are far more talented athletes than football players. and injuries! my god, a sprain keeps football players out for weeks and a hockey player toughs it out and keeps playing.

and Avery doesn't do anything but bring unwanted attention from the mainstream media who only play the vicious boarding hits and the cheap shots and the stupid comments on the nightly news. they don't show the spectacular goals from guys like Ovechkin or Malkin. they don't show the open ice hits that are clean and part of the game. the only attention guys like Avery and Ruutu bring is bad attention

The NFL is becoming unwatchable because there are too many stupid *rules* that slant everything to the offense. I'm not talking about rules protecting QBs or the "horse collar" rules. Those rules prevent injuries--so they are good. It's the ticky-tack bullshit rules that take away from the action of the game. And since the game is becoming so complicated and less "free playing" when an NFL team gains 2 yards running the ball on first down that's considered a good play. Seriously? That's a snorefest play.

Hockey is a free-flowing game that is exciting to watch. The way the puck flies around and the criss-crossing patterns and passes is a beautiful thing to watch. Half the time I have no idea how a player sees a player he passes to. It really is like they have eyes on the back of their helmets.

Having said all that....the NHL needs SUPERSTARS and characters to hate. The Good Guy needs the Villain who is just as powerful or maybe even more powerful. Guys like Claude Lemieux, Ulf Samuelsson and Steve Avery are needed just as Sydney Crosbie and Ovechkin are needed....

The most unwatchable pro sport is the NBA.

The 1st, 8th and 9th innings are all you need to watch for baseball. With all the goddamn time outs in the NBA, the last 2 minutes of any game, take forever to complete and they distort the spirit of competition and exciting finishes! There are hardly ever any last second shots. Too many important NBA games end quietly at the foul line basically....

Since we are on the topic of NFL versus the NHL, I have to agree that the NFL is just unwatchable now. I wouldnt say its the rules so much, I personally think the game is just too easy for today's players. I saw so many fucking teams last season throwing hail mary's on a 1st or 2nd down. One minute a team is down by 32, next minute they are up by 3. Is an 100 yard field still considered long? And I mean that by today's athletes. Its like in baseball, hitting a home run is not challenging anymore because any player can hit 300-400 ft. Maybe its just me, but I've been falling asleep while watching football.

And then theres the players. Goons who run dog fighting rings, beat their wives, run people over and shoot themselves in the leg. Why do I always hear about so and so getting a DUI? The league is just out of control.

The NHL on the other hand is at its prime. The game is so perfect with the new rules, and its faster.
