In random news, tonight is the night Hockey Night in Canada decides its new theme. I took a listen to both the finalists, and, well, I hope it's neither. They both suck. I know nothing will ever be able to replace the classic theme, but, come on! Out of 15,000 entries, those are the two we have to choose from?

neesh! Tampa was unfuckingbelievable in the first 2 periods. of they can get on their stride and play like that for the rest of the season (and not blow the lead in the 3rd like tonight) they'll be contenders. still, i am not yet worried

Playing the Caps tomorrow. Luongo owns them. 10 straight wins vs. Washington.

yeah thats true, but washington is a whole different team this year

Wow. That was ugly.

Yeah, that was something terrible.

The sad thing is I don't even think Ovechkin got a point in that game. When the best player in the league doesn't do anything, and you still get whomped, that's not good.

Hopefully it was just the one game.

(Or, even better, it means Calgary sucks hard this year)

He didn't. I think (and hope) that they learned their lesson that you're not gonna win by just showing up and not working. Talent alone won't win you games in the NHL. Hopefully they show up ready to work on Thursday against the Wings, they're gonna need to.

the canucks are so unreliable, one day they play really well and the next day they play really bad and then the next day they play right in the middle

I'm not too surprised that the offence didn't do anything, since the Canucks have no true offensive power, but what amazes me is Luongo letting in five goals in one game after playing so well the last two games. What, did his balls drop off on the plane ride there?

I think part of it was bad defensive coverage by the rest of the team. Play like that against Detroit, and we're in big trouble.
