The post-whistle roughing is obviously going both ways... just look at Tyler Johnson throwing cheap shots after the game is over.

This is what is known as playoff hockey

Happens every game

Whee!! Duck and Hawks in the Western finals. Only thing that could be worse is Kings and Hawks. I'm rooting like hell for whoever comes out of the East.

Agreed. The Western Conference playoffs has been shite. Pretty much worst-case scenario across the board. St. Louis and Winnipeg being eliminated in the first round made any good outcome impossible. Don't get me wrong, I like the Blackhawks, they have so many players I like, but they've one twice in recent years; I'd like to see some new teams advance and win. I mean, I had to root for two teams I vehemently despise for two different series in the West (I had to root for Calgary in the first round because they were facing the worst franchise in the history of sports (the Vancouver Canucks) and then I had to root for Anaheim (whom I thoroughly detest) in the second round because they were facing a team I've hated all my life (Calgary)). I had to root for the Flames, for crying out loud... the Flames... such a terrible feeling...

I understand. Problem is, no fucking way can I root for the Blackhawks. Never, never, ever. Doesn't mean I don't respect 'em....I do. I just despise them....probably driven by jealousy I'll admit but so what? I still can't stand 'em.

I totally understand where you're coming from. I honestly LOVE so many of the Flames players this season. I LOVE Johnny Gaudreau... LOVE him. And Gio, and Wideman, and Colborne, and Hudler, and Monahan, and Brodie, and Russell, etc. I wish we had all those players in Edmonton. But they're the Flames so I despise them by default... I have to, I'm an Oilers fan. But I respect them immensely for the incredible season they had and the heart and grit they played with all year long, including after Gio went down for the season and a lot of people thought they were done after that. They stepped up after that though.

The Canadiens need to make some changes. Therrien doesn't know how to put a line together and he needs to go. Bergevin doesn't know how to put a team together and he needs to go. Pacioretty could pot 50 without breaking a sweat if he had a good enough playmaker to play with. Andrei Markov is DONE; he has no legs left and makes a ton of bad decisions on the ice. Tom Gilbert is a joke. Their D is no good; they don't have a single true defensive defenceman who can kill penalties and P.K. is their only decent point man on the PP (and he obviously can't play all 2 minutes of every PP, even if Therrien tries to make him, and he can't play both points simultaneously). P.K. plays way too many minutes and he's obviously gassed at this point in the season. If it weren't for Carey Price this team would honestly be a bottom-dweller. Maybe next year (but probably not)... hockey breaks my heart...

P.S. What's left to cheer for for crying out loud... I guess I'm gonna have to root for the Blackhawks or maybe the Capitals... this sucks.

P.P.S. It has to be the Blackhawks... I like that Ovechkin hasn't won anything of true merit and I want it to stay that way (even though he's been a new man this season, in my opinion).

P.P.P.S. Terrible officiating as per usual; Bettman getting what he wants yet again (a Cup south of the border)... I wonder how it always works out in his favour...

Tampa got back to playing its game last night. They played a lot better. P.K. made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes, I agree, he looked gassed. Looking forward to Game 7 tonight (I checked the schedule, it is tonight).

What a comeback by the Rangers! Team showed a lot of grit although I was kinda rooting for Barry Trotz a little bit. NYR are the only team left for which I have even a sliver of rooting interest....unless of course Tampa Bay wins in which case I will be rooting for them against whoever comes out of the West (prolly Chicago).

Yzerman did a great job plugging holes this year. He signed a couple of the Rangers who went to the Finals last year. Gotta love Tyler Johnson.

Sorry, if I post this in the wrong thread (couldn't find a better thread) but congratulations Team Canada (6-1 win over Russia)
