Another solid win by the Pens over the Panthers 5-2. My Penguins totally dominated the Panthers in the 1st, and ran Vokoun in the 1st period (2nd straight game they ran the starter). The Pens really settled down the rest of the game, and solid net minding really kept the Panthers from really being able to get back into the game!

Johnson suffered an injury, and Fleury had to come in to play the 3rd though. Lovejoy got his first NHL goal, but he left with an injury after taking a puck to the face late in the 3rd. That ****** his chances of scoring a "Gordie Howe Hat Trick." He got the goal and the fight, but he never got the assist tonight. Crosby got a goal to extend his scoring streak to 22 (29 away from Gretzky's record of 51), but Malkin failed to score a goal for the 1st time in 4 games (since his return from his injury). If Johnson's injury is serious, the Pens will have to bring up a goalie from the "baby Pens" for tomorrow night's game against the Caps.....though Fleury is sure to get the start.

The Pens have definitely upgraded their defense from last year. Currently, they have the best penalty **** in the league, and are 3rd in goals against & shots against (per game). I was sad to see Gonchar go, but it looks like Martin and company are a vast improvement from what we had before! Defense isn't something Pens teams are generally known for, so this fact is a pleasant surprise!

Even better, the win tonight moves the Pens to within 1 point of the Flyers for 1st in the division, conference, and league! On to D.C. for what should be an excellent game tomorrow night! Decided to watch the Pens game & join the Steelers game in progress....ha ha ha!

Tampa needs to stop sucking against shitty teams.

an absolute must win against an easy Islanders team and we lose...for the 2nd time this year to them.

How come you never really hear talk about moving the Islanders as much as you do other teams? Seven thousand people in attendance, and they have been having attendance problems for at least a decade.

Fuck, move them before you move Atlanta or Phoenix.

Looks like Datsyuk is out for a while with a broken wrist. Babcock moved him to center from left wing and it worked. But with the Central so tight with Chicago and Nashville Babs might call up Filppula or Tatar from Grand Rapids.

There is a lot of talk about them moving to quebec. At least in quebec city.

We'll definitely miss Pav's but with the depth that we have I am sure somebody will step in and make things happen, Detroit usually responds well when they have a key player on the shelf, They should be alright for a while. :2 cents::glugglug:

Well hopefully Babcock can move around the right people or call up someone who can produce points. Draper, Helm and Hudler can't score on a garage door so I don't really want to see any of them getting more ice. Especially Draper & Hudler as those two have been pretty much useless. Patrick Eaves getting more minutes would be good.

Do you think Quebec City could support a team again? I'm not sure it could. I think Winnipeg would be a better choice, plus it wouldn't put another team so close to the three already in that part of the country.

There's talk about every team moving to Quebec City. It's not going to happen until they get an arena, though.

a tweet i found:

"Nabokov's *** Victor told SovSport that #caps, #mnwild, #flyers & #tblightning interested in his ***, but Evgeny wants to play for Lightning"

i'd still love for him to join us. he'd need to take a serious paycut though

Dang, I'm watching the Pittsburgh/Washington game. Quite a fun game in the first minute already.

:nanner:

If you liked the 1st minute.....you must have LOVED the finish!!! That was one helluva game! Finally a game that actually lived up to the hype!!! I thought I was going to have a heart ****** as the shootout kept going and going until the 7th attacker for the Pens, Pascal Dupuis, finally ended it and gave the Pens the 3-2 win (2-1 in the shootout)! Hopefully the game on the 1st @ Heinz Field is just as exciting! To top it off, Sid scored a goal again to extend his scoring streak to 23 games!

fuck me!

Lightning 4, Rangers 3 in an EPIC 11 round shootout!

Ellis was SPECTACULAR

Damn....11 rounds! Hell I thought the 7 round shootout in the Pens-Caps game was something. I think I would have had a heart ****** if the Pens game had gone 11 rounds! Leave it to a Pittsburgh native (and former Penguin) to end it and win it for the Lightning (Ryan Malone)!

I just saw that the Devils fired MacLean and brought Jacques Lemaire, of all people, back to coach them for his 3rd stint with the team. I guess they finally had enough of the Devils dwelling in the NHL cellar. While the Pens are in the penthouse tonight.....the Devils are still stuck in the outhouse.....I must have been snoozing....I knew that were doing bad....but I didn't realize they were the worst team in the league right now.

I am really bored and slighty ******** and I am watching Santa go around the world on Google Earth when Star Wars is on commercial and I've come up with a weird conspiracy involving Santa and the NHL.

See, he skips over a lot of cities, but I've noticed quite a few of them are cities with NHL teams. So far he has visited Atlanta, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Newark, New York, Toronto and Montreal while skipping over Philadelphia, Raleigh, Miami, Tampa, Nashville and Washington. Now call me paranoid, or dunk, but I believe this is a massive conspiracy made by NORAD and the NHL and it is predicting who will make the playoffs next year. He also stopped at Hartford, skipping over Quebec City, so I think we all know which city will regain their team first!

Marty St. Louis is sick and may very well miss tonight's game vs. Atlanta.

if he misses this game, Lecavalier or Gagne or somebody (other than Stamkos) is going to have to have about a 3 point night...
