so the new owner of the Lightning has announced that Rick Tocchet and Brian Lawton have been let go. Lawton i am happy to see go. Lawton made some good moves but they were more than overshadowed by idiotic ones.

Rick i don't know what to think. he is definitely to thank for the outstanding performances of Steven Stamkos and Steve Downie, but his coaching just wasn't working for the whole team

The Bruins are in, yessssss, and now we'll roll over the Sabres!

It seems as though, unless you take your team to the playoffs in your first season as head coach, you're not good enough.

I agree with you 100 % Lawton in my view made only 3 good moves : trading Matt Carle ( I know Carle came from the Dan Boyle Trade but Lawton wasn't even the GM when that trade was made ) for Steve Downie and Steve Eminger. Trading Jeff Halpern for Teddy Purcell and a 3rd pick in 2010. Trading up to get Carter Ashton in the first round in the 2009 draft. I think Lawton has the potential to be a good GM , many times during the koules/barrie era , he didn't really have full power to make the trades he wanted. As for Tocchet , I like him , but you can't keep a coach just because he has done a good job with 2 players. Now my bet is on Jim Johnson to be the next coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hmmm, our beloved two olympic goaltenders have to battle in the first round. That sucks. Hopefully Miller can show us again the magic he did earlier this year. I have a prediction: all Candian teams will exit in the first round. Not only is it possible, I think it will happen. :hatsoff:

Going back to the Rangers for a second, if I may folks, they were without Callahan and Avery.....thats pretty much all our forecheck right there. Avery single handedly beat the flyers a couple weeks back with 2 goals and a bunch of drawn penalties. Cally was a US olympian for a reason.

Taking our forecheck away results in Henry getting shelled for 46 shots....much different game with Avery and Cally out there, period.

Montreal will be swept.

Ottawa will lose in 5 at most.

I can't see Vancouver having trouble with L.A, although I'd love to see it happen. I have Vancouver going pretty far in the playoffs. Solid team up and down. I think the Sedins and Luongo will actually show up for the same playoffs this time. :1orglaugh

Thomas and Miller are both brick walls, should be a good series.

Tuukka Rask is Boston's starter. Thomas lost the #1 job a long time ago, so he will only play in this series if Rask struggles, which could very well happen since he has no playoff experience, but he did lead the league in GAA and SV% at a pretty remarkable 1.97 and .931, respectively.

Another terrible trade for the Leafs.

I agree with both getting fired I am a season ticket holder to the Lightning and the last two games against the panthers were great i saw the bolts beat the panthers in Tampa and in Sunrise

Philly was 5-1 regular season against the Devils. But since both Langenbruener and Parise are on the team, I think I'm gonna cheer for them.

I am going to be cheering for Philly too, don't get me wrong. They're one of my teams. I'm just being realistic. If I went by who I wanted to be in the final it'd be Vancouver-Philly.

My pics for the first round.

If the Hawks' goalie doesn' step up it could be difficult.

True, but I have to say I'm liking the sound of an Original Six team that is not the Red Wings winning the Cup this year.

Really, as long as its not Detroit/Pittsburgh again, I'll be happy.
