Halpern i figured would go out. he got our shootout winner a couple games ago. Bochenski...i dunno. i guess they're just picking players at random now because nobody can seem to score in a shootout

I see that only one team in the league (Edmonton) has fewer loses than the Leafs.

People are getting grumpy in Toronto. This can't keep happening forever.

Yes, I know. The original Ottawa Senators actually won 11 Stanley Cups and were one of the greatest teams, if not the greatest team, of the first 50 years or so of major professional hockey in North America. But that was an entirely different franchise from the current Senators who started in '92 and have made only one Cup appearance, a five-game loss to the Ducks.

Dion Phaneuf has been traded to the Maple Leafs. no word yet on who the Flames get in return


Plus, Toronto FAN radio's Howard Berger is reporting that the Leafs have sent goalie Vesa Toskala to the Anaheim Ducks for J.S. Giguere and a 1st round pick.

Apparently it was a seven player deal between Calgary and Toronto.

Toronto got Phaneuf, Fredrik Sjostrom and Keith Aulie
Calgary got Niklas Hagman, Matt Stajan, Jamal Mayers and Ian White.


Anaheim got screwed there. Toskala is not worth Giguere's jockstrap, and especially not a first round pick. Toronto should have waited and got Turco, instead. Giguere also has a no-trade clause in his contract, so take that for what you will. Hopefully a change of scenery will do both goalies good, if the rumours are true. If Gustavsson is going to be worth anything, he needs a veteran to help show him the way.

Burke works a 1st year deal like he always does.

Toronto gave up a lot of scoring up front for this deal. Time will tell who won this deal.

Also. Anaheim did not give up a 1st rounder to go along with Giguere. Toronto also sent Blake to the Ducks for Giguere.

I will always be a Nordiques fan at heart but I really love my Bolts.

By the way according to TSN Toronto got Giguere in exchange for Toskala and Jason Blake.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
the Bruins better make a move. With all the injuries, they need some offense. I know the break is coming up and they should be healthy for a strong run, but they need to call Atlanta now

Sutter is panicing in Calgary; I for one hope he over trades and ends up with a team without much cooperation and trust.

there are rumors that TB is conversing with Nashville about a possible trade. i'd love to see Shea Webber join the Lightning.

Tampa Bay defeats Atlanta 2-1 in a nice victory for us.

Niittymaki is now 16-0-0 against the Thrashers in his career and his GAA is still just 1.86
