NFL team of the decade

For me it's either the New England Patriots or the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since 2000 the Patriots have appeared in four Super Bowls and have won three. The Steelers have appeared in two Super Bowls and have won both and have a chance to add a seventh championship this Sunday. Another team that can be added to the discussion is the Indianapolis Colts, they've appeared in two Super Bowls and have won one. What do you think?

I'd have to go with the Cleveland Browns. They have made the best coaching decisions & drafts ever!

Patriots.

If the Patriots had made it to this upcoming Super Bowl (as many, self included, thought they would) then whether they won or lost, this question wouldn't even be asked. The Patriots would have begun the decade at the Super Bowl and ended the decade there, with three other trips in-between.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Because of that the Steelers, with a win next Sunday can argue that they're the team of the decade. Then it all comes down simply to which team you like better.

But the Steelers need to win Sunday or the answer is the Patriots.

Hate to say it but The Patriots 4 Sure but who knows how long the cheating had been going on?

The one and only.
The winningest team of the last decade (as in team with the most wins) was the Indianapolis Colts. That's your answer.

How many years did they go one-and-out in the playoffs? Three? Four?

Greatness is measured by championships. Even kids know that.

The thread title merely asked for team of the decade. In terms of wins, that was Indy. Case closed.

Greatness (unlike winning percentage) is subjective, it cannot be measured.

So I'll stick with my answer.

But by saying "in terms of wins" you're making your answer subjective.

The question was not "What team had the most wins in the decade?"

If it was, then you'd be correct.

It has to be measured by something. Otherwise there is no way to quantify any argument.

Going by total wins is a logical choice because it shows a team's consistency over a period of time. Team with most wins = best team = team of the decade.

Call me crazy but I like to go with the team with the most Super Bowls = New England Patriots.

But a team is not the best team if they consistently lose in the playoffs when it counts the most.

Measuring it by championships is a much more logical way to quantify the argument, since championships are the reason the games are played in the first place.

Therefore the answer is between the Patriots and the Steelers provided they win on Sunday.

Easily the Pats. But for some fairly improbably circumstances in 2 games (come from ahead loss to Indy and helmet catch against the Giants) the Pats are red cunt hairs from 5 SB wins in the 2000s. That would be half of the championships in one decade. Sure they would have had to go on to beat Da Bear (cubs) but who doubts that would have happened?

Even as such it's only a discussion because of those circumstances. I didn't really think the Pats could win this year because of their relative inexperience on D but next year I see the Pats winning it all again. What they did this season was probably an over achievement.

Steelers if they win they will make Tom Brady...more average in everyone's eyes. Now if Green Bay wins, then Tom Brady is the best thing since TV dinners!

Not even close....the Patriots.

It should have been the Rams but they fucked it up by hiring Mike Martz and letting Kurt Warner walk.
