Hate to see anybody get hurt...but as a Celtics fan, from a purely basketball stand-point, I have never liked Rondo. I'm just upset we didn't trade him before the injury when his trade value would have been the highest considering he's leading the league in assists at 11 a game.
Rondo accumlutaes alot of stats, but they don't translate into wins..6 straight losses, including the last two where Rondo had triple doubles, but we finally get a win against the world champs when he's out of the line-up...
Rondo has talent, but he's a punk, and not a closer..this is Garnett and Pierce's team and we have more than enough at the gaurd positions to still win games...especially if we bring up Fab Melo from the D-league (14 block shots in one game) and move KG back to his natural position of power forward.
I always felt the Lakers should be at least a first round out in the Playoffs, but at this point, I'm still not convinced they will even make it that far just because they beat OKC today...The Wizards just beat OKC last week, and, against the Lakers, Westbrook went a pathetic 6 for 22 shooting. If he has even a decent game, then OKC probably wins.
The Celtics and Lakers both seem pretty mediocre this year, mainly because of mis-management ...Ainge and Buss are both incompetant and should be fired...Still, anything can happen if these teams can sneak into the Playoffs at the 7 or 8 spot, as you can never underestimate the heart of a champion.
