Now that Melo is a Knick, a couple of questions arise:

Who will they get this summer? D. Williams? CP3?
How shitty is the West All-Star team gonna look next year?

Now that the Knicks got Melo i don't know if they could get CP3 or D-Will. but we will see what happens they won't be free agents until summer of 2012.

Goofy Dwight will also be a free agent that year.

Durant, Westbrook, Paul, Griffin, Williams, Kobe, Love, Gasol, isn't that shit.

If 'Melo gets all this to Denver, Imagine what Lebron would have got in return?

So the Nuggets get Gallinari, Felton, Chandler, Mozgov, a #1 and two #2's next season? And cash? Did Ujiri get Lamborghinis for the team, too?

Denver really made out like thieves. Knicks lose all their depth but add Corey Brewer and Sheldon Williams? Lol. At least Billups will run the show until Paul heads there in two years. Wolves got Anthony Randolph and a huge expiring contract. Rubio, Randolph and Love could be a great core to build around.

This is assuming Paul and Williams will be in the West next year, which I doubt. I'm not sold on Love quite yet, and Kobe and Gasol aren't even enough for the Lakers at this present. I believe either Paul or Williams will be a Knick next year... most likely Paul, and I still don't count out the Nets to make a splash. Durant, Kobe, and Westbrook can hold it down somewhat, but c'mon... if CP3 gets to the Garden, the East is gonna be retarded next season.

DeMar DeRozen is correct. The Props need to get the fuck out of the dunk contest. Enough already. DeRozen actually DUNKED THE BALL. He didn't try to make some sort of operatic statement (I went to the dunk contest and Cossi fan Tutte broke out?? Huh?)

His second dunk was the dunk of the night. The guy who took off from the fucking free throw line only got a 45? WTF was that? The 3 ball dunk was a snorefest and so was the double backboard dunk. BORING.

Blake Griffin's first dunk was awesome, but his other dunks were average including that dumb one over the hood of a car. Not much of a dunk if you actually look at the dunk part which, I know, it's tough to see given that ridiculous car sitting there.

Also, final GRIPE -- a dunker should get 1 point deducted for each MISS. How can a dunk earn a 50 on the 10th try?

A 50 can only be given out if the dunker actually hits the dunk on the first goddamn try!

Well, can you blame them. I mean, the Knicks had absolutely no leverage. And they certainly didn't want to miss out on another super-star.

I'm just glad Melo went to the Knicks. The Heat-Knicks rivalry is going to be awesome.

Hopefully, there is a next season.

I don't know what I would do if there's no basketball or football.

The car should have won the dunk contest. If it wasn't sitting there Griffin would have never won.

How does the guy with the best dunk overall not even in the final??? I don't like your one point deduction idea for misses. Instead, how about you go sit your ass down after 3 tries.

Also, a best score of 9 per judge for prop usage. Bringing second hoops and cars is just fuckin' stupid.

Well, if Baron Davis didn't fuck things up, Blake could have had one of the greatest dunks in Slam Dunk contest history.

Also, IMO, the final car dunk was suppose to be the icing on the cake. If Blake would have landed his first dunks, that car dunk would have been the encore. I don't think it was ment to be a spectacular dunk, I think it was just for show.

Hey that's pretty good.

I like Ice's idea because it brings in the element of ~pressure~ into the contest. 3 strikes and you're out. The crowd will get amped if a guy steps up and slams it down on 1 attempt. Miss after miss after miss after miss and the crowd begins to yawn...

Definitely the #2 guy in the finals should NOT have been there. He was the worst out of the group!

Well, can you blame them. I mean, the Knicks had absolutely no leverage. And they certainly didn't want to miss out on another super-star. ll.

Unlike Lebron, 'Melo was going to the Knicks 100%. The Knicks should have waited it out and signed him in the offseason. They'd automatically be a contender for years. Now they have no bench and will be feasted upon by the likes of Boston. Wade and Lebron are great defenders. Amare and Melo are far below average defenders. This is going to be fun.

Am I the only one troubled by these guys not talking about WINNING??? This notion that they, or anyone else, is gonna out-talent their way to success is garbage. It seems like their just waiting on another guy (CP3) to really get this going. These guys don't rebound or play D, but everyone is excited like together they're gonna cheat the game. Meanwhile, more complete teams who do rebound and play D are dominating. Nobody yet has figured out how to take down the Spurs or the Celtics except...

THE BULLS!!!!!

They're the only team to have beaten the Heat, Celtics, Magic, Spurs, Lakers, Thunder, and Mavs.

Breaking News: Jazz guard Deron Williams traded to the New Jersey Nets.
Trying to rebound from the disappointment of their failed pursuit of Carmelo Anthony, the New Jersey Nets have agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz for Deron Williams, sources said on Wednesday.

The Nets will send Derrick Favors and Devin Harris to Utah for the All-Star point guard.

The deal, scheduled for completion later Wednesday after a trade call with the league office, would also involve the Golden State Warriors and bring multiple draft picks to Utah.

Just Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks were talking to the Nets about re-acquiring Harris, according to sources. The Mavericks had shown interest in the point guard in January and told the Nets the sides should talk again if New Jersey didn't ship him out in a Carmelo Anthony trade.

Sources said Dallas turned down a New Jersey proposal of Harris for Caron Butler, Mavs rookie Dominique Jones and a first-round pick.

Williams took some heat this month for the retirement of Jazz coach Jerry Sloan. The two had disagreed during halftime of a home loss to the Bulls on Feb. 9. Sloan retired the next day.

"Maybe arguing was the last straw, so there I am, guilty of that," Williams said at the time. "But I think anybody who believes I could force coach Sloan to resign is crazy. He's stronger than that and personally if I said that to him, he'd probably go tell me to go do something."

More critical to Williams situation is the fact that he can become a free agent after next season and hadn't made headway with the Jazz on a new deal. Utah could have faced the same kind of circus atmosphere that the Nuggets encountered with Anthony this season.

Williams was an All-Star the past two seasons. In his sixth year in the league, the 26-year-old is averaging a career-high 21.3 points and 9.7 assists per game.

Harris has played three-plus seasons in New Jersey after starting his career in Dallas. He has made one All-Star team and is averaging 15.0 points and 7.6 assists this season.

Favors, who was the centerpiece of the Nets' proposal for Anthony, was the third overall pick in the past NBA draft. He's averaging 6.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game this season.

And the East keeps getting stronger.

Hate to say I told you so, but...

The writing has been on the wall all year, and CP3 is likely headed to NY also. This would mean that the East would boast:

D. Rose
D. Williams
CP3
Rajon Rondo

...and that's just at PG!!!

This also means less competition out West, and all of a sudden the future for the OKC Thunder (one of the worst pro team names ever, BTW) looks super bright! With the rapid aging of the Spurs and Lakers, they could really make a run for the West in a year or two.

wow deron williams goes to the nets? did see that coming. jazz get devin harris and derrick favors plus draft pick. now the nets will try to get howard in the offseason. if carmelo had just waited till offseason he could be a knick and the strong bench would still have been there. now they are good but no contender.

Holy fuck. Do teams have no faith their star will stay? WTF is the point in getting high draft picks if they're just going to bolt for a city of their choosing? I don't like where this NBA is headed.

What a stupid move by New Jersey. Making a splash just to say they did. Their owner is a fucking moron.
