NBA '09/'10 Season Thread

CHAMPS looked good last night but still same old story why can blow a team out the hated ones still made a come back but CHAMPS were in control all the way... I would hope for a sweep but i know thats not going to happen CHAMPS in {6} 2-2-2

Well I missed the game, but it looks like the Lakers played like garbage, Ray Allen shot the lights out and L.A forgot to play D in the last 5 minutes. Tons of fouls too. Hmm. Lakers had almost double the free throws and still lost. Sad.

They'll just have to kick it up in Boston. They're not exceptional on home court. And L.A has played alright on the road. This has the makings of a 7 game series. And a heart attack or two.

Allen had a great (well spectacular) game but this wasn't the Celt's greatest performance. Garnett and Pierce had unbelievably bad games and not to mention playing nearly the entire game (the team) in foul trouble.

But for a bunch of airhead turnovers all game long by the Celt's this should have been a bigger win for them.

I don't know how that bodes for the rest of the series but Garnett and Pierce were absent today.

Agreed. What the fuck is a moving screen anyway? I saw a lot of normal screens tonight that were somehow called for fouls tonight.

Lots of Bullshit fouls called tonight.

True...but it didn't really advantage either team per se. To the extent it did, it was to the Lakers' advantage as they doubled up the Celts in ft shooting. But each team and 29 fouls.

Well I missed the game

What you missed wasn't so much a game as a whistle fest.

Jesus H Christ after game one I was really hoping that MAYBE the refs would get a clue and actually let the teams play a bit more. WRONG. They were even more omnipresent in this game.

If you're an aspiring referee this is probably the greatest NBA finals you've ever seen.

If you're not it's been one of the worst.

I wish we could return to the rough and tumble style of the early eighties, with todays athletes and the style of play back then, we would have nothing but more exciting games and players trying hard without worrying about getting too many fouls or too many Techs.

It's hard to get into a game when the whistle is blowing on average of every 45 seconds.

Ray Ray turn back time last night good to see him light it up now how will L.a respond in Boston even tho it is 1-1 i think the pressure is still on Boston

True, but some of the most egregious foul calls (See: Ball out of bounds off Garnett given back to the Celtics & "blocking" foul on Artest against Pierce) that went against the Lakers were at a much more inopportune time, and helped to shift the momentum decidedly in Boston's favor late in the game. There were bad calls both ways, but the Celtics seemed - despite the disparity in FT numbers - to benefit from bad officiating at the right times. Not an excuse though, Lakers got pounded on the boards and overall shot pretty horribly and were nowhere to be found on the defensive end. Kobe had a really off night, as far as off nights for Kobe go, and no one for LA really got it put together for an extended period of time.

Need game 3 BIG TIME! Hate to do it, but I'm going to have to change my pick from Lakers in 6, to Lakers in 7. Let's go champs!

:dunno:Hard to say...all of those FTs in the first half could have kept the Lakers in it enough to where you see those plays as significant now....Maybe without the FT advantage those plays are of no consequence.

My point on it is from what I saw...the Lakers were fortunate to even be in that game due in large part to the Celts. The team who played the best won game 2 IMO.

So much for home court in this series!!!

I was shaking the entire 4th quarter. Wanted to throw up. Lakers prevail. 2 to go. 2 to go.
