NBA '09/'10 Season Thread

Cleveland laid an ass whooping on Boston today. They're done. Toast. Time to rebuild. They paid for their championship and are paying for it now with all their over the hill chumps. Good riddance assholes!! Enjoy the next 20 years without a title.

Thunder are looking amazing right now. Can't wait for them and the cats to make the playoffs. Two young hot teams on fire right now making the playoffs for the first time both way higher in the rankings than anyone predicted.

Lakers signed Kobe to a 3 year contract extension. This coincides with the contracts of Gasol and Artest. That's a nice core we got though 2014. I know Kobe is getting older, but we'll be getting Chris Paul next year to help out.

Man, how far has Toronto fallen. Sad to think that this is how good the team is when Bosh isn't on the court.

Five more years as an also-ran... Gee, now I remember why I stopped watching their games six years ago.

If anyone wants to ruin a vehicle's white interior with buttered popcorn for an April Fools joke, just make sure he's not Kenyon Martin.

*In fact, don't try to pull that shit on anyone's ride.

Can that fit Paul with a max. contract with Gasol, Bryant, Bynum, Odom and Artest big on the books? not left much cash for a bench.

Jerry Buss has a big chequebook and laughs at the luxury tax.

Adam Morrison comes off the books this year. $6.8 million qualifier gone.

Derek Fisher will either retire or move to the bench and take a pay cut. Approx $3 million gone.

Jordan Farmar comes off the books this year. $3 million qualifier gone.

That frees up about $11-12 million.

Chris Paul wants out of New Orleans and is signed through 2013 at about $15 million so he won't get max until after that, and they have a stud PG waiting in the wings in Darren Collison who has played just as well, if not better than Chris Paul this year. L.A could throw a trade at them, some chumps, 1st round pick and expiring contracts, for Paul. Another option (which I prefer) is offering Andrew Bynum in a trade for Paul. I can't see Bynum staying in L.A until the end of his contract. L.A has been procrastinating on their PG problem for far too long, and I think Kupchak will take advantage of New Orleans and Chris Paul's willingness to leave.

Either way, L.A will have a top tier PG by next season. Raymond Felton is a free agent this season, and might go for $8-10 million range. Janerro Pargo is free agent and will come cheap. Acie Law, Javaris Crittenton, Luke Ridnour will all be cheap and low key, but L.A doesn't do things low key. ;)

Good win against Utah tonight btw. Odom had 26 and 10.

I think signing Acie Law could be a Trevor Ariza/Shannon Brown situation. I like him, and it wouldn't hurt for them to take chance on him. And wouldn't it be funny if after the Gasol steal of a trade, they ended up with Crittenton all over again a few years later anyways.

Congrats to the late former Celtic guard Dennis Johnson for his election to the Naismith Hall of Fame

Rest in peace, DJ.

Congrats to Karl Malone & Scottie Pippen on being elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame - there's no question that they belonged with the greats of basketball.

There goes the Raptors hopes of making the playoffs. That was a brutal elbow he took.

yeah there season is done correct me if im wrong but arnt they one game up on the bulls for the final spot . i could look it up but that would mean i would have to sign off freeones lol.
alot of people are getting there noses busted i like the strong physicaly play

Ya Chicago is one game back of Toronto with about 5 games left. If Toronto doesn't have Bosh for those 5 games, they might win one. That's not very promising.

Well, its nice to be able to point at one incident and say "If it wasn't for this elbow we would have made the playoffs", but honestly the Raptors don't deserve to make the playoffs after their huge slide.
