NBA '09/'10 Season Thread

Normally I would be drunk, but not this time. The D is good. They are never going to be an elite defensive team. That's not the philosophy in L.A. They allow under 100 ppg. Their offense needs to step up. When Kobe was out, the team showed they can lay a beating on any team. They played better without Kobe those 5 games. 4 wins, 1 loss to Boston. Kobe comes back into the lineup and the offense starts sputtering. He's hurt, and he's bringing down the team. He needs to realize he will be more effective facilitating than scoring. He could easily put up 15-12-8 numbers if he passed the ball more. He has superstars like Gasol, Artest, Bynum and Odom who can score. He doesn't have to take the game winning shot. L.A should be blowing these teams out of the water. No offense Plasma, I'm a Raptor fan too, but L.A should have never lost the first game, and they shouldn't have let them hang around this time. It's frustrating losing to teams like Toronto, Miami, Charlotte and so forth.

I'm rambling on here, but my point is, the D is good enough to win games. Kobe is hurt, and he needs to sit, or start passing the ball more. If Kobe passes more than he shoots, L.A is unbeatable.

Also, they should be going to the inside more. Bynum/Gasol is too much for any team to handle. If they can play a dominant game, it'll just make it easier for Artest, Kobe and Fisher to nail their jump shots.

look there is no bigger kobe fan then me but if he is hurt then he should not be playing... and he is not the problem on offense the others must adjust to the great muba and get out of his way... when byum gets the ball and just goes to the hole he most time scores are gets to the line but when he gets the ball and waits then he turn's into a 40 year old center and most times gets the ball ripped then he crying to the refs then he's in foul trouble... gasol needs to man up and play some defense and stop talking about getting more touches in the press... as for the ppg stat screw thats im talking about wide open shots our "defense of philosophy" since the great coach jackson has been here has been let them shoot if they make it oh well because at some point the lakers will cause turnovers but this needs needs to be fixed and so does the pick and roll i mean damn....

3-0. You have L.A's number too. :( Hopefully we don't see the Bobcats in the Finals. If we get there.

Great point. LA is something like 2-8 over the last 10 against the Bobcats. And I don't think LA has won in Charlotte for at least 2 seasons, I may be wrong, but not by much if I am. Charlotte, for LA, is turning into the new TrailBlazers; LA wins less than 50% of total games against them and can never beat them on their home courts. Infuriating  and dumbfounding :dunno: at the same time if you're a Laker fan.

Larry Brown knows how to build a team. We have made great trades since he has been here. The one bad move was trading Shannon Brown to L.A.

No doubt that was a mistake on Charlotte's part. I would take Shannon Brown (& Adam Morrison, if that's the way it has to go down) for Vlad Radmanovich a million times over. Thanks for that

larry brown took pen wallace and made him one of the greatest defensive players of all time just imagine what he will to with the talent of the bobcats maybe not this year but next year and the years to come they will be dangerous.

dont sleep on the young and hungry hawks either

It makes more sense than any other team. Clippers are stacked, adding Lebron would have title written all over it.

C - Kaman
PF - Griffin
SF - Lebron
SG - Gordon
PG - Davis

That's an elite starting lineup. And you still have Butler, Outlaw, Blake and Jordan coming off the bench.

Might be true, but if you were a free agent of his stature would you go to the Clippers? The franchise has been cursed by Sterling and the big losing factor.

He is staying in Cleveland, my best guess! Also the Cav's are father down the road to a championship.

Next years FA crop is also something to consider; Paul, Durant, Deron..

Charlotte (Hornets) also drafted Kobe Bryant and traded him to L.A.
*Huge Facepalm*

The playoffs are going to be awesome this year. I can't wait. So many teams could go all the way in my opinion. Cleveland, Orlando, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, L.A, Denver, Dallas etc.

He will be a role player anyway.
We got one of the best starting 5 in the East already and some good players coming off the bench.

9-23 on the road is not good being a few games ahead of hopefully playoff spot. Since Detroit sucks this year, I am all for a mixed of teams in the Eastern conference playoffs. It will be tough run, but Atlanta has had some fun in the past, so might the Bobcats!
