The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Dear Jay-Z and other cliche, overly excited black celebrities,

Barack Obama's mom is white and his dad is black. So, how does that make him 100% black? Shouldn't he be 50% black and 50% white?

If his dad was white and his mom was black, would he still be 100% black or would he then become 100% white?

What's the criteria for being black, as opposed to white, or even a mix?

:dunno:

I'm just saying...

Sincerely,

Chef

PS - Tiger Woods is also not 100% black. Just thought I'd let you know.

Drop the race shit. Why categorise a person who can synthesize the most polarised arguments into a colour?

Wake up.

Race does NOT exist.

Draw your distinctions in vane/vein. It never works, unless you put a brainwashed kid on an inter-continental flight.

You know what's funny about this whole thing? Black people, for years, have fought for equal rights, as they didn't want to be judged for the color of their skin. For years, they have wanted people to look at them for who they are and not for the color of their skin. But, now, since Barack Obama is our President, all you hear is...

We have a BLACK President!

Umm...ok. I thought you didn't want us to notice the color of your skin, but uh...maybe I was wrong? :dunno:

All I see is a man talking some sense. :dunno:

I just I would say, that was terrible. :dunno: Just my opinion, but really really bad.

The sentiment is good, but it couldnt be translated to song this time. Overall I would give it a C- nice try more work needed

Jay-Z does mention that Obama is half black. However, historically since the Plessy v. Ferguson decision in 1896, it did not matter if someone was "part black" or "full black". In order to accommodate the "separate but equal" doctrine those that were even 1/16th black were considered black.

Although this system of racial classification is no longer in use, our society still follows it to some extent. Is it right? No. But it is what it is.

I'm pretty sure he didn't write those words.

You're right. Jay-Z does not write his rhymes, he flows from the top of his head. :thefinger

Okay. So if I'm 1/16 North Sudanese and 1/16 South Sudanese, and 1/16 Indian, does that make me black?*

PS I have blue eyes.

PPS. Does "race" exist?

* PPPS I didn't mention the rest.

Yet, a person who is 1/16 black and 15/16 white will be denied as a black man if he ever commits a crime. That man will then be called a white man.

:dunno:

I dunno. Does it even matter anymore? It's society that uses race to classify people, not the government. So I guess you would be what you look like the most.

I don't care if Turkland's president or prime minister or both is/are black. Just run the country properly and care every citizen equally.

It's just a colour of skin, not more than that.

I think that there is a difference between judge by the color of the skin, and to notice that color.

And it all won't be so wrong, but it seems that some people are not satisfied with that level of equal rights. They do not want to be judged by their color - which is normal desire - but they also want to be appreciated by the color of their skin. And this is equally stupid both for white-pride skins and black-pride whoevers.

So when someone is proud way too much of a black president it is as suspicous, as if someone were proud too much of the white one, just cuz he's white.

PS: as for your question about his dad and mom... the answer is simple enough: black genes are dominant, so even when mother is white, the kid is not 50% white and 50% black. In fact he is black for much more than a half, due to the dominant genes of black people. just biology, no politics.

You're right. There is a difference between judging someone for the color of their skin and just noticing their skin color. I should've added that.

:hatsoff:

But, if you were a black person and didn't want anyone to care about the color your skin or to look at you any different just because of the color of your skin, then why would you tell everyone that you had a BLACK President?

Why bring attention to something that you don't want people to notice?

Ultimately, I don't really care and it doesn't effect me what-so-ever. But, it's hypocritical for people to be doing that.

(I'm not saying that all black people are doing that; just certain ones.)

Yes, race does exist. Are you saying I'm the same as a Pygmy?:

Yeah dude, I don't think so.

Eye color doesn't indicate race. BTW, what's your ethnic background? I know mullato girls who have blue eyes, but they are not considered white. It doesn't mean anything. Nor do whites with brown eyes not fit the mold of caucasions.
