Prostitutes are paid money to have sex with people.
Escorts are paid money to have sex with people.

So, even though I never called you a prostitute or even came close to confusing you with one, now you can see why someone might do so in the future. Are there differences between the two? Yes. And, I have my own view of what those differences are. That's exactly why I wanted to know what you two thought the differences were, because I was interested in hearing your side of the story. I just don't really understand why you're getting so offended over somebody asking you a question. You Might think that my question is ridiculous, but I think that your reaction to my question is a little ridiculous. I know that this is the internet, so misunderstandings occur, and I'm hoping that this is all that this is. I mean, if someone confuses me with a line cook instead of a chef, I'm not going to get offended by it. We both do pretty much the same thing (with minor differences), just with different labels attached to our name. That is why I wanted to know what you, as someone who works in the adult industry, thought the differences between escorts and porn stars were. The only real one, and the one that lets it exist and be legal (Not that I think prostitution should be illegal) is that pornstars are paid to create something on screen or in film or pictures and the sex is just a byproduct of creating the entertainment while prostitutes just sell themselves for sex. Most of the difference is just semantic, and the little real difference is small with the few issues where there is a difference.

I would also consider the fact that pornstars have greater standards over who they work with, but by looking at all the loser male talent that has existed in the industry since it started I can say for most cases and for the majority of pornstars that's not true, or at the very least the majority of pornstars standards are really low when it comes to partners.

Totally disagree. With pornstars they know in most instances who they are working with, for, whatever you want to call it. I am certain there is a clique of people who enjoy working with each other and they seek each other out. Prostitutes unless they have a regular client from time to time do not know from one day to the next who they will be working for or fucking. You don't call mainstream actresses prostitutes because they simulate sex on screen. Pornstars make a living providing entertainment fantasy for those of us that enjoy watching it. I have never once considered them to be prostitutes. It's amazing some of the insulting remarks that are directed at them on this board sometimes. Especially from the same people that profess to enjoy porn.



I don't believe that most pornstars get into the business for the sex (maybe the males do) it may be a nice fringe benefit but it is totally about making as much money as you can. You also have to have a certain degree of mental stability to be in that business. There have been a few that have fallen through the cracks (no pun intended) but from what I have seen from the ones that post here they appear to be well adjusted people. They are also providing entertainment. Prostitutes are providing a service. There is no comparison to be made between the two professions. IMHO.

partially truth, but prostitutes run a much higher risk of aquiring and STD. Also they engage with strangers and not professionals, so they put themselves in in a potentially harmful situation.
