Have any of you seen the new Cowboy Fire Pit they are selling at Home Depot? I just bought one yesterday and gonna have my handyman put it together today then burn some hickory in it to season it I am picturing for my first endevour steaks and oysters on there with some green onions and sweet peppers and maybe a pot with homemade baked beans on the little rack.

I just put a pork shoulder in my slow cooker and topped it with a chopped onion and some sweet peppers. I set it to 10 hours so when I get home later from a day out on the boat I'll have some beautiful pulled pork waiting for me! pork-shoulder.jpg

Tonight I'll make pulled pork asian tacos. I take a flour tortilla and spread hoisin sauce on it. lay a nice portion of the pulled pork and then add some chopped red onion and cilantro with a dash of hot sauce. One of the best meals possible. especially after drinking beer in the sun all day :) As you can see Buster knows what's up! :)

Is he a good doggie and doesn't jump up onto the counter? My brother's Golden Retriever is very, very bad. She will snatch anything if she sees a head turned.

I've had duck fat fries in my trips up north. Nothing compares to them in any shape, matter or form.

That reminds me. Remember how you stuffed your burghers with cheese in a past video? I took it a step further. Onion rings stuffed into a meatloaf. Lay out half the loaf, pack in the breaded and fried rings. Do the rest of the loaf to cover it and bake as usual. Jumpin' tap dancing Christ. Even if you over cook it for a few minutes, the sweet juices just run throughout the whole God damned thing.

If he could jump onto the counter he would be he's too small. he is stretching every fiber in his body to reach the counter as it is lol

Bob that sounds good.... I need you to watch this. Its already cued up for you If it doesn't start at the 5:42 mark scroll ahead unless you want your hunger teased as a build up lol

Don't say I didn't warn you when you catch yourself with drool running onto your shirt. And yes, it was fucking outrageously good.

thought I'd share some step-by-step pics from yesterday. I headed out on the boat around 10 went to the sandbar and swam a little then headed out a little bit to do some fishing. Caught some nice speckled sea trout and a beautiful triple tail which is on the menu for today.

Drank 6 IPA's in 82 sun and was at that perfect beer buzz point and starving. When I got home around 530 the house smelled like heaven. You know how it goes when you have the beer buzz and you're hungry...you'll eat anything but if you have something good it takes it to an entirely new level.

The pork shoulder was perfect and when I stuck a fork into it and twisted I was rewarded with the beautiful sight of pink pork and the juices running out of it. The sweet peppers and onions were nearly dissolved. So I put the pork on my cutting board and used to forks to pull it apart. Then I took the onions and peppers and the fat layer and cut it up and blended it into my pulled pork.

I laid out my flour tortillas and spread some Hoisin sauce on them, then a nice pile of pulled pork and topped it with slices of red onion and a sprig of cilantro and a dash of this habenaro mango hot sauce. when I say delicious I am not doing it justice.

You were talking about that cowboy grill you just installed in your new house. I'm glad you are going into the world of open flames. Need videos for when my snow stops. I live in an apartment and it sucks that I can't grill. I have one of those old open element counter things that haven't been made for decades. Still much better than the Foreman designs but since moving, my small counter space makes it a pain in the ass to use. Problem solved. The nice people from QVC just delivered this:

It's a Masterbuilt Veranda electric grill. This thing leaves such a small footprint it wont block steps or doorways on my 2nd floor landing. An 8' cord through my kitchen window and I'm grilling. I know what you are going to say, electric? But wait...

Not only is it open element but I can also remove that element to drop a pan of charcoal in there. Having this puppy 3' from my doorknob has given me a new will to live.

A few weeks ago I needs some fresh basil. Wegmans had it in a flower bag growing it hydroponically. Keep water in the roots. it stays fresh and grows. Pretty cool. Keep it on the counter as a decoration and pick the leaves off as I need them. Last week I decided to try it with scallions. I never use them all up and they turn into mush left in the fridge. Not any more. I've got green onions growing and snipping them as I need. Gotta look for more stuff to do like this.
