Man begs for help as he turns into a tree

I believe this is an old story and in fact now the guy has been offered treatment that would in fact break down the crystals but he's refused it purely because his income is based on him being a showcase for people to come and see. There was a documentary about the chap on Channel 4.

That has to suck; poor bastard.

He is not turning into a tree literally, he isn't wood! It is just hard growths, like extremely bad warts.

That video is old. He has since been cured of the disease. It is Human Papalova (sp?) virus out of control. He was treated with Vitamin A in large doses.

Here is a different video showing him leaving the hospital, in a much better state. Still has more treatment to do...

This would be an excellent storyline for House, MD!

I'm glad he's better, but he will miss out on being an extra in the new remake of the Wizard Of Oz - forest scene.

Oh no!

I had no idea I was ******* his ******* over and over in Fable II!!!

I wonder if he'd stand still and let the **** think he was a tree and then yell out BOO!

:hatsoff:

You guys are evil.LOL

We have a obvious tree demon running around and you are calling us evil!?

You sir need to get your facts straightened out! I have played many hours of Fable and Fable II to know a tree troll when I see one!

I'm sure once he gets treatment, he'll be oak.

My dog is so gonna **** all over him.

They did it a year ago on Nip/Tuck.

Damn, that's horrible! And it was real nice of his wife to abandon him and the ******** once he was knocking on death's door. Guess she wasn't really into that "til death do we part" thang.

It's great to see that some doctors stepped in to help him though. It's also interesting to note that the virus that caused that (combined with his genetic/immunity probelms) is quite common - even in the U.S.

How Common Is HPV?
About 20 million people in the U.S. are infected with HPV at any time, according to the CDC. And three-fourths of sexually active people between ages 15 and 49 have been infected at some point in their lives, according to estimates from the American Social Health Association.

You're more likely to get HPV if you:

Have sex at an early age
Have many sex partners
Have a sex partner who has had multiple partners
While many people think HPV is mostly a problem for teens or young adults, HPV can infect men and women of any age. In fact, a 2007 survey found that nearly 27% of U.S. women between the ages of 14 and 59 have HPV, according to a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The survey found that:

19% of women 50 to 59 were infected with HPV virus
27% of women 20 to 24 were infected with HPV virus
45% of women 14 to 19 were infected with HPV virus

Luckily, most people don't have Dede's one in a million defect, otherwise...

Isn't there 2 pf them in this type of shape with the same disease? I watched something on discovery about them a while back.

Hundreds of thousands of trees are cut down every year, and I'm supposed to feel bad because this one just happens to be a human? Fuck off.

amirite?

Could be. But I think that I read that one of the doctors that went over to help him also heard about it through a TV show here in the U.S.

The U.S. doctor wanted to bring him back to the U.S. to study the disease, but he seemed to be having trouble raising funds, and said getting a visa for someone in Dede's condition might have been tough.
