I guess we shouldn't be reading old books, either. Wow, OP just confirmed that he's a complete tool.

None of those artists have been mainstream for ages.

Madonna hasn't done anything for ages. Guns N' Roses again haven't done an album since like 2008 or so.

I have only ever heard about 1 metallica album so i wouldn't know. I don't think i have ever heard of the other guy.

As i say though, these artists have not been mainstream for a long time. People still listen to them but not as much as they did 10-15 years ago.

I don't see why it is a bad thing though that young people listen to older songs

what the hell are you talking about?

Fuck! This is one of those moments that I feel that I have been in a time warp or something. I have spent the past four or five years convinced that he had died. I can only attribute this to when the other Paul Young died that some media outlet had announced it as the "Everytime You Go Away" Paul Young and not the Mike and The Mechanics one.

I am glad to know I was mistaken, because I always liked him. But flabbergasted that I was not aware of this until now.

See I like those large benefit shows like Live Aid,Neboworth,or Farm Aid. Also large festival shows like The Glastonbury Festival or that big one they have in Denmark.

Festivals are good but it is so expensive. I go to TITP(T in the park) sometimes but it's like £200 for a ticket. Then it's like £8 for something to eat, £8 for chips, or a burger or something.

Everyone is drunk aswell, when you try to sleep, everyone just falls on your tent.

Festivals are good but they also suck

Each year i have to decide on titp or going on holiday to Zante etc. Since i spend money on a season ticket every year and then i have all my bills, drinking on a weekend. I don't know how i afford it all on the student budget

That was Axl and hired musicians, not Guns N' Roses. The Guns died in '95.

I feel I should of been born 40 years ago because I always seem to be finding myself listening to older music, I do listen to new stuff but I eventually find my way back to the oldies!

In what way is that either sad or strange?

In my view it is somewhat strange if the today's teens go to Black Sabbath consert.

The age cap between the performers and the audience is way too big.

Would you let your daughter marry a Rolling Stone? :sunny:

Heck, I'm 55 years old and still listen to songs from this guy. Especially this song. (circa 1934)

So, marrying them and listening to them is the same?

If they like the sound, why shouldn't they go to a Black Sabbath consert (sic)? This doesn't make any sense to me. Listening to music is listening to music. If it is music you like, doesn't matter if was written yesterday or in 1700.
