It takes analysis to show that tea party is concerned about big gov't and not race.

Re: It takes analysis to show that tea party is concerned about big gov't and not rac

OK, what about ACORN, are they an all inclusive org?[ but your word is not final! What rhetoric? and give me something that is known as a general consensus around the tea party and not simply the words of some lone agent provocateur who couldn't get in the door so to speak. WRONG!: "Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. From the ballot box to the classroom, the thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders and members who make up the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all Americans."
Well, last time I checked, the Asian and Indian communities are minorities within the greater American population and they seem to do well without assistance at every turn! Why? because they come with a good entrepreneurial spirit, unlike all of the ranting and raving radicals who make up the hispanic and black advocacy groups . . . the enslavers they are. :p
Listen, you're too much consumed with the down trodden- anti business- social justice/progressive crowd, I admire your tenacity but I don't believe that mandatory egalitarianism is gonna ever take root in ''America the Beautiful''. lol! The mass majority of Americans generally want something much better than any organization could provide.

friday on my mind is leftist/socialist, once a leftist always a leftist. So don't be astonished by his daddy o blind fanboyism.

...the overwhelming majority of California's financial problems are as a result of the energy crisis of 2000 and 2001 and the fact that g'ment revenues have shrank with this current economic crisis just like everyplace else.

That's simply wrong. Energy concerns certainly played a role, but are by no means the driving factor in the State's overall economic situation.

Revenues have never really been the issue
Consider...
-California has the 3rd highest state income tax in the nation: 9.55% tax bracket at $47,055 and 10.55% at $1,000,000.
-California has the highest state sales tax rate in the nation by far at 8.25%. Indiana is next highest at 7%.
-California corporate income tax rate is 17th worst in the nation with a rate of 8.84%. - However, of the non graduated states, only Pennsylvania at 9.99%, Rhode Island at 9.0%, and the District of Columbia at 9.98% are higher. One size fits all (and a very high one at that) is exceptionally hard on small businesses.
-California has the fourth highest capital gains tax 9.55%. - Capital Gains Tax Rates By State
-California has the highest gasoline tax as of January 2010, averaging 65 cents/gallon. The national average is 47.4%.
-California has one of the highest state vehicle license car taxes, 1.15% per year on value of vehicle, up from 0.65% in 2008.

Its not the money that's "not" coming in. Its the way the politicians are allocating it.

-1 in 5 in LA County receiving public aid, nearly 2.2 million people as of February 2009. 20% in Los Angeles County receive public aid
California has 12% of the nation’s population, but 36% of the country’s TANF (“Temporary” Assistance for Needy Families) welfare recipients – more than the next 8 states combined. Unlike other states, this “temporary” assistance becomes much more permanent in CA. July, 2009 California has more recipients in key welfare category than next eight states combined.
-California prison guards highest paid in the nation. The maximum pay of California's prison guards is nearly 40 percent higher than that of the highest-paid guards in 10 other states and the federal government, according to a study by the California Department of Personnel Administration.
-California teachers easily the highest paid in the nation.
-California now has the lowest bond ratings of any state, two steps above junk. The new rating affects about $72 billion of general obligation and lease-supported bonds. July 15 California bond rating cut again
California ranks 44th worst in “2008 lawsuit climate.”
-California, a destitute state, still gives away college education at fire sale prices. California community college tuition is by far the lowest in the nation. Nationwide, the average community college tuition is 4.5 times higher than California CC’s. This ridiculously low tuition devalues education to students – resulting in a 30+% drop rate for class completion. Moreover, 2/3 of California CC students pay no tuition at all – filling out a simple unverified “hardship” form that exempts them from any tuition payment, or receiving grants and tax credits for their full tuition.
-California offers thousands of absolutely free adult continuing education classes. In San Diego, over 1,400 classes for everything from baking pastries to ballroom dancing are offered totally at taxpayer expense.
-California residential electricity costs 13.81 cents per kilowatthour. The national average is 6.99-8.49.
-It costs 38% more to build solar panels in California than in Tennessee – which is why European corporations have invested $2.3 billion in two Tennessee manufacturing plants to build solar panels for our state. March 5, 2009 More Solar Companies Producing Elsewhere to Sell to California.

Crippling business tax climate, dominance of the teachers' and prison guards' unions, public aid, TANF, heavily taxpayer subsidized education, and social programs that don't work and cost a fortune are all contributing factors. The energy crisis is a small portion of it. And even if the energy crisis were originally to blame, that was 10 years ago, one would assume that if these other problems were non-existent, that the bleeding from the energy crisis would have been stemmed over the course of the past decade.

:cool:P/R, California was spending about $50 million per day buying electricity on the spot market back in 2001 ....that's aside from having to bailout PG&E and SCE.:2 cents:

Re: It takes analysis to show that tea party is concerned about big gov't and not rac

Prop 13 = the reason for the demise of California. Overturn that and things will start getting better. For one thing, there will be an actual real estate market and not a series of pump-n-dump housing bubbles.

Another thing--stop the ridiculous 2/3 majority bullshit required to do anything. California can't literally FIX ANYTHING because a small cadre of asshole Republicans can say NO to everything. A failed government is a beautiful thing for a Republican and most vote with the intention of "how can I fuck over the gov't with my vote?"

Another fix--reign in the goddamn ballot initiative process. I SHOULD NOT BE VOTING DOWN ballot initiatives that are meant to do nothing more than STOP things that were voted IN BY THE MAJORITY one or two goddamn election cycles previous! IT'S MADNESS!

You're out your mind! The California State Legislature, illegal aliens (and all of their social costs), gerrymandered districts and a recession is the reason for California's troubles!

Get real! Are you out of your meds or something?

You non producers simply cannot get enough free stuff from the trough, can you?:horse:
:cthulhu:

Re: It takes analysis to show that tea party is concerned about big gov't and not rac

It's fucking ironic to see generic Conservatives whining, bitching and crying about "Big Government" when it's dominated by the Democratic Party who in reality shrinks the size of government, yet when it's dominated by the Republican Party these same wanna-be Conservatives don't gripe about "Big Government" even though the size and power and government usually tends to grow under Republican presidents
