Irish Punk bands

What do you do when they play "Which Side Are You On?" Just sit on you're hands?

Hey now I am the *** of an Iron worker and a ******* of a Boilermaker, just becasue I don't agree with their poliics does not mean that I can't listen to their music.

Stiff Little Fingers made one great album. (Suspect Device was a direct rip off of an Old MC5 number but we'll let that go)

As the man above said there was only on great Irish punk band: The Undertones.

Here is the promo of Teenage kicks - not great quality but what the fuck, it was made for fifty quid. It was John Peel's favourite song of all time. High praise indeed.

I have to say that to me, calling Flogging Molly etc Irish Punk makes as much sense as calling Hanna Montana Seattle grunge. ie they are not Irish and they are not punk.

This rule even applies to the talented and enjoyable Pogues who invented the genre.

Founding 3 members of the Pogues are:

Jem Finer born Stoke on Trent England
Spider Stacey born Eastbourne England
Shane McGowan born Tunbridge Wells England

Celtic punk is punk rock mixed with traditional Celtic music. The genre was founded in the 1980s by The Pogues, a band of punk musicians in London who celebrated their Irish heritage

Mrs Jolly: You are really underestimating the exodus of Irish people from the Island. Without going into the history of the Irish in America which would take a book, I’ll just mention the Pogues.

After the war, many people emigrated from Ireland, particularly her cities to find work. Many ended up in getting jobs in around London.

Shane’s parents did just this. He was born near London, to Irish parents. His *** was an Irish dancer. They moved back to Tipperary when he was a baby. (and later back to England)

So, he is not Irish to you? Is John McCain not American because he was born in Panama?

It's a shame that people who celebrate their hertiage are blasted for it by thoes that do not understand.

wouldn't regard the Dropkick Murphys as an irish punk band. I'd go for Irish Trad Rock. Certainly over here they wouldn't get away with being classified as an irish punk band.

anyway, it's all about the undertones.

Its ok. We will welcome you back when you realize your faith:

We are a diverse community of faith rooted in Christ. We follow the Roman Catholic tradition seeking to become a people a people utterly inspired by faith and devotion to God, as lived by St. Francis.

The center of our life is the Eucharist, where we come to know Christ in one another, in Sacred Scripture, and in Sacrament.

We strive to become a ****** with hearts open to all, sharing the joy of God's word and the challenge of on-going spiritual growth.

We labor to transform society through acts of social justice and charity, to promote peace, and to ease the burdens of poverty, illness, and discrimination within our parish and the larger community.
