IPOD Issues

How come when I go to manually add a certain song from my computer, to my Touch 5 through Itunes, it deletes the whole Playlist that I'm trying to create? I can't figure it out, and it is ******* me off. It's only one song out of appx every 12 or 13. The others I'm able to add in without any issues. It's just that one frickin file that screws everything up. Why is Itunes so complicated? I just want to drop and drag and be done with it. It is user UNFRIENDLY for a novice, like me.

Another issue is on occasion, it'll add back videos I deleted when I go to add a song/or video - but they look like ghosts or remnants of the old videos, and I'm unable to swipe on the video to delete it. I have to go back to Itunes to delete them. What is the deal with that?

Howie, I've attempted to help you in the past. But I never hear back from you. Your issue is *possibly* with how you have "device syncing" set up in iTunes - or some other setting. I'm not sure... not enough details to really give you a definitive answer. Moving files around in iTunes (on a Mac or on a PC - I use both a PC and a Mac with iTunes and they are very similar, though not identical) is just a copy & paste operation. There could be a software or hardware bug, but most likely you have a box checked that you don't want checked, so it is reverting to a previous state. I had a similar issue when I was trying to manually do something and I had it set to do auto syncing... so it kept going back to what I had (from another, older folder/source).

Here's a link to the Apple support page for iPods: Premium Link Upgrade

As a first step, try this: *With your iPod already connected to whatever computer you're using*, open iTunes, select "Preferences" from the iTunes menu at the very top. Once you select "Preferences", click "Device". See if "Prevent iPod, iPad, iPhone(whatever) from Syncing Automatically" is checked. If not, check that box and try again. That may have something to do with it or it may not. I don't know what your other settings are. Or like mine, it could be your source file. Best option if it keeps giving you issues, try the Apple support forum or make a (free) call to a Genius Bar. If you have an Apple Store nearby, they will walk you through the basics so you can better use the device. They really are good to deal with.

Android rules!!!

Yep, with viruses and malware, it is tops. :)

The Google Play store is so full of **** apps and malware that it's not even funny. But I am not a huge fan of iTunes either. It really should be slimmed down and simplified. It's grown to include too much and it's bloated now. These days, it looks more like something that Microsoft would come up with. :D
